I have writer's block right now so sorry if this chapter sucks. :\

Jace's POV

Jace peaked his head into Alec's room to make sure he was okay. Alec was asleep in the center of the bed, his lips parted slightly. The sunlight from the window hit his face at the perfect angle, making him look as if he was glowing like an angel. Jace smiled and stepped into his room. He had to make sure Alec had eaten. The sandwich was gone and there was an apple core in the trashcan. The water bottle was almost empty. Jace picked up the paper bag and the tin foil to throw it away.

Suddenly, Alec spoke. "What are you doing in here, Jace?" He asked, his voice tired and soft. He sat up, leaning against the headboard.

"I was just checking on you."

Alec sighed. "I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself, Jace.

"I know, but..." Jace had a whirlwind of feeling and memories going through his mind all in a matter of seconds. "I guess I'm just scared. I wasn't there for you, Alec. I didn't save you from being tortured, I couldn't save you from anything. I couldn't stop Jonathan from..." He choked on his words. "from killing you."

Alec looked at him sympathetically. "Hey, look at me, Jace. None of that was your fault. There was nothing you could have done."

"But there was, Alec. If I would have just killed Jonathan when I had the chance, or if I would have been paying attention the night you were kidnapped..."

Alec cut him off. "No. Don't blame yourself. If anything, this is all my fault. I've been nothing but trouble this past month. And now Magnus is paying the price for it." Jace could barely hear the last sentence.

"I'm sorry," Jace said.

Alec didn't reply. He just stared at his hands. Jace saw how he tried to cover up the loyalty rune. He had put on a light grey tank top, with black sweatpants. Jace could see the tip of the agony rune sticking out from under the grey cloth. Jace turned away.

He had never felt this guilty in his entire life. Not even when he lied straight to Alec's face about dying at Lake Lyn. Alec was his parabatai, so he should be able to help him. But for once, the blonde had no idea what to do. What did you do when your brother, your best friend, your parabatai, was tortured by his own boyfriend who was under a spell and was now dying with a twenty percent chance of survival.

So Jace did the first thing that came to mind. He would just have to be there for him.

Yes, Alec was older by several years, but never had he seemed so young and fragile. Even when they were kids, Alec was strong, he had always given off the strong aura of authority, of leadership. He seemed to have no fears. But Magnus had unlocked something inside of him. Alec was a whole different person now. And Jace was still trying to figure out if it was good or not.

"Jace?" Alec asked, his voice quiet and nervous.

"Yeah?"

"Do you think Magnus is going to be okay?"

Jace knew what he should say. He should say something like, 'Of course. He's going to be fine. He's strong.' But the truth, Magnus was a downworlder. He had angelic power in his blood. It was a miracle he was still alive.

"I don't know." Jace sighed eventually. "I just don't know."

Lorenzo's POV

He had found Magnus. Unconscious in the Institute infirmary. He had asked one of the nurses why he was here, and she had explained to him that the older warlock probably wouldn't survive until the end of the week. And he couldn't say he was upset about that.

Magnus was nothing but trouble. It wouldn't be all too terrible if he were to die. Of course, every other warlock in New York would be pretty upset, but they'll get over it. Soon enough, they'll forget he ever existed.

And then there was that shadowhunter he loved. The one that miraculously came back to life after being stabbed in the heart with a sword and dying in Magnus's arms right there in front of everyone. There was something going on with Mr. Alec Lightwood, and he was going to get to the bottom of it.

Maryse's POV

At first, she didn't believe it. But then she heard Alec's voice. Jace had called her, claiming that her eldest son was alive. And she had thought he was playing a cruel trick on her before she realized that Jace would never do that. But then Alec had spoken. Maryse had ordered a portal to the New York Institute right away, and stepped through without bringing anything. When she stepped out inside the op center, Isabelle and Jace were waiting for her. She walked up to them, trying to keep calm.

"We told him to wait in his room. He's not allowed off of that bed until he's better." Isabelle told her. Maryse nodded. She knocked on Alec's bedroom door.

"Come in,"

She opened the door. Sure enough, Alec was sitting on the bed, a smile plastered to his face. Maryse broke down almost immediately. She embraced the ravened-haired boy tightly, scared that if she ever let go she would lose him again.

"Alec." She said, wiping a stray tear from her cheek. "It's true."

"Yeah," Alec smiled sadly. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be. I'm just happy your back."

She hugged him again, and he winced. She pulled back quickly, suddenly filled with worry.

"Are you okay? Isabelle said you not fully healed. Did she mean from  getting stabbed or..."

"No, that healed a while ago."

"A while ago? How long have you been back?"

"A little over two weeks."

"What? And no one thought it would be a good idea to tell your parents that you're not dead?"

"I know, Mom. It's just, a lot happened." He averted his gaze and looked at the floor. She remembered what Jace had told her over the phone.

"How's Magnus?"

"I-I don't know." His voice was beyond broken, shattered into so many pieces there wasn't a word in the English dictionary to describe it. "I can't help him. I can't even stand up without falling again."

Maryse sighed. She was afraid this would happen. And she knew Alec blamed himself for everything.

Hi. So that was the most boring chapter in the history of the universe. Jeez. Stupid writer's block. So it's currently 11:46 but technically it is still Wednesday (at least where I live) so I still have published a chapter every day since I started 'Alec's Last Arrow.' Sorry for posting so late. I've been busy. Also, thank you so much for 112 votes!!! That's crazy!!! Also, apparently you can put a picture and a video at the top. So the video is just a song and the picture is just lots of parabatai Jalec stuff. Okay, love y'all, thanks for reading, bye.
