A/N: It's the final count down, y'all. There are only a few chapters left until the end. Gods I am so sorry for so many things. If you don't know the song above, LISTEN TO IT RIGHT NOW I DARE YOU. I love screaming the lyrics to this at random times. It's fun. Try it. Just be like, "IT'S FINAL COUNTDOOOOOWWWWWWWNNNNN! DO DO DO DODO DO DO DO DO!" Don't believe me? DO IT RIGHT NOW.
The picture is just me getting bored and creating that bootyfulness. It's just malec, but in 2020.
Also, I got really distracted while writing this and ended up watching hours worth of comic con interviews on YouTube and pretty much just staring at Harry and Matt. There was this one interview with Harry and Matt and the interviewer goes, "So can you describe Magnus in a few words?" And Matt just looks at him and says, "Alec." It's hilarious.
Okay, I'll shush now. Anyway, here is the chapter you have all been waiting for: The chapter I named! (I'm probably going to start naming chapters cuz why not.) Okay fine here's the chapter:
CHAPTER 64: Hail and Farewell
Jonathan's POV
"This is bad."
"You said that already."
"It seemed worth repeating."
Alec rolled his eyes. "Please, just shut up so I can come up with a plan. I would prefer killing Jonathan tonight, not in a few years."
"Okay, okay. Jeez."
Jonathan watched in amusement as the two Shadowhunters ranted on and on endlessly. They had no idea he was here, watching them, listening to their conversation.
He jumped down from where he was perched, landing gracefully in front of the Shadowhunters, who pulled their seraph blades from their belts simultaneously.
"Boys, boys," Jonathan smiled. "Let's take this fight somewhere else, why don't we? We wouldn't want too," He gestured around the room. "Scare the children,"
Both of them opened their mouths to speak, but Jonathan was quick. He snapped his fingers, transferring them to a place he knew no one would get in the way when he killed them.
Magnus's POV
"Alexander!" He ran to the spot he and Jace had been standing. The Accords Hall was launched into an absolute chaos for what seemed like the thousandth time today.
Isabelle grabbed his arm, pulling a bit too hard, causing him to stumble.
"Magnus, it's okay. If they're together, I'm sure they can beat Jonathan, no problem." But Magnus caught the hint of worry in her voice. But there was no use in panicking.
Magnus took a deep breath. "So, what do we do?"
...
It had been about thirty minutes since Jonathan had disappeared with Jace and Alec. Magnus had occupied himself by pacing back in forth in a little corner of the Accords Hall. Caterina had all of the children up in a treehouse she had made with her magic that sat directly above him. Occasionally he would hear one of the kids giggling or shouting out with joy. Whatever she was doing with them up there, they seem to love it.
Max, however, was not with the rest of the kids. Instead, he was following Isabelle around in and out of the Accords Hall, helping her do whatever she was doing. Magnus guessed she was helping clean up the city after the battle.
Magnus twisted the rings on his finger nervously. They had tried tracking them, but Robert had told them it was no use.
Magnus couldn't help but notice that there was something off about Alec's father. He seemed like he was missing something. Something that he had grown so used to having, that now that it was gone, he seemed to have lost everything. Like when you wear a hat for too long, and one day you reach up to adjust it to keep the sun from your eyes only to realize that you had left it on your bed. But with Robert, it was something much more important than a hat. Magnus brushed the thought aside, figuring he would have time to get to the bottom of this later when he was positive that his boyfriend's life wasn't in immediate danger.
"They're taking too long." He said as Simon walked up too him.
"Hey, keep in mind that it's Jonathan they're fighting, not just some demon on the streets of New York. It might take a little longer. I wouldn't worry so much if I were you."
"We don't even know if they're alive," Magnus said under his breath.
Simon frowned. "Come on, Magnus. You gotta keep your head up. I'm sure they're going to be okay. I mean, have you seen them fight together? They are like the ultimate bromance! Iron Man and Spider-Man. Han Solo and Chewbacca."
"Who?"
"You don't know who they are?" Simon looked shocked. "How have you survived over four-hundred years and never seen Star Wars? Do you even know what the Avengers is? Marvel?"
Magnus shook his head.
Simon sighed. "Man, I need to help you. After this is all over, I'm letting you borrow all of my movies. I have all of the Star Wars movies and all of the Avengers movies. You should watch Star Wars first, and then when you're done with that, move on to Iron Man." He stopped, shaking his head as if trying to shake the nerdiness away from him."But that's not important right now. What I mean is, they're going to be fine."
"That's reassuring."
Just as the last word left Magnus's mouth, a bright flash from the center of the room had everyone covering their eyes.
Magnus heard a voice then, a voice that made him open his eyes and scan the scene.
"Where's Maryse?" Alec asked.
Jace looked at him sadly. Robert turned away from his son. Isabelle was the only Lightwood to keep a calm expression, hiding her true emotions.
Oh, Magnus thought. That's why Robert was acting strange.
"Where is she?" Alec asked again; his voice still sounding somehow strong but slightly wavering.
"Can we talk about this later, Alec?" Jace asked.
Alec's mouth formed a straight line as he nodded.
Magnus ran. He ran as fast as his feet would carry him across the Accords Hall, not caring if he made a scene.
Magnus jumped up, wrapping his arms around Alec's neck, forcing him to lean down. Their lips crashed together. Alec's body froze completely for a few seconds before he kissed him back.
Magnus was vaguely aware of Isabelle throwing her hands up and yelling, "Yes! Thank the Angel!"
The kiss was short-lived. Magnus pulled away just a tiny bit, still close enough to where his lips brushed against Alec's when he spoke. "I'm sorry, Alexander. I shouldn't have..."
Alec cut him off by kissing him again. His hands slowly made their way into Magnus's hair, causing Magnus to let out a soft moan. Alec's arm found it's way around his waist, pulling him impossibly closer.
The kiss only ended when the need for air became too strong. Magnus leaned his forehead against Alec's, breathing heavily. He kept his eyes closed for a few seconds afterward, unable to open them. He just wanted to stay here in this moment forever, to freeze time and just live in this moment.
Unfortunately, his wish wasn't granted. Alec pulled away, standing up straight. (A/N: But not cuz you know.)
"Um..." His voice came out hoarse. He cleared his throat, a blush creeping up his cheeks. Magnus looked around. Some people were staring at them in shock, others, (Mostly just Isabelle and Simon) had looks of absolute delight on their faces, some were smiling, but the majority of the crowd looked like they were at a party they didn't want to be at.
Alec cleared his throat again. "So, uh, Jonathan is dead."
A/N: Hi. Guess who caught a stupid stomach bug? And school starts in five days too. It better go away before then. Well, here's an update. It was like three AM when I started writing today, so yeah. But anyway, haha I bet you thought you were getting a battle. Nope. You'll figure out what happened eventually. Just be patient. Also, guys, if I got anything wrong about Star Wars and Marvel, oops. Honestly, I looked it all up on the internet. I know nothing about it. Thanks for reading, love y'all, bye.
