Alec's POV
The first thing Alec did was shove Magnus behind him. The hydra charged at them, causing the mundanes around them to run away screaming. So much for acting like tourists.
Alec pulled back his bowstring, holding all three arrows in between his fingers. The other Shadowhunters had their seraph blades out, and were slicing at the thing's legs.
Something green shot from the mouth of the middle head, shooting right at Alec.
Just before it hit him, Magnus was there. He stood in front of Alec, his feet planted wide, his hands crossed in front of him forming a shield of blue mist. The green stuff disintegrated when it touched it. Magnus then broke the shield, shoving his right hand out as far as he could reach. A red ball of magic shot from the palm of his hand. It hit the hydra right in the center of its chest. The demon swung its heads to look at them, slamming one into the Eiffel Tower. A metallic clang echoed through the now empty streets as the thing started to stumble. The other Shadowhunters took this as a chance to attack. Alec let go of his arrows in shock, not paying attention to where they went.
"Magnus! What the hell?!"
"Oh, you are very welcome, Alexander. That stuff would've burned your skin off."
"I would've dodged it! You can't use your magic, remember? Clave's orders."
Magnus rolled his eyes. "Good to know. Next time I'll just let the love of my life die. Again." He looked away from Alec, his head towards the floor.
Alec put his hand under the warlock's chin, forcing him to face him.
"Look at me."
Magnus obeyed, letting his gaze meet Alec's. The glamour, much to Alec's surprise, had slipped away, showing his cat eyes. They were emerald green with speckles of gold here and there. Alec caught his breath. He had already seen Magnus's cat eyes quite a few times, and every single time they took his breath away. Magnus was just so damn beautiful, it should be illegal.
Alec scolded himself. His own thoughts were starting to sound like really bad pick up lines from a Disney movie.
He must have been staring, because Magnus blushed and suddenly his eyes were a warm chocolate brown again.
If the timing wasn't so inappropriate, Alec would have kissed him right then. But alas, life is always in the way of things.
Jace, Bob, and the rest of their crew were running toward them.
Jace whistled. "Okay you two love birds, break it up. We have a mission to accomplish."
Alec pulled away from his boyfriend, swinging his bow over his shoulder, removing the backpack strap and letting the bag hang from one shoulder, the bow from the other.
"Right," Alec mumbled.
...
They now sat at an airport. Alec was extremely on edge, clutching his seraph blade so hard his knuckles were white.
Alec had completely forgotten that they would be taking a plane to the borders of Idris. That saved quite a bit of time.
"Flight sixty seven, Air France, boarding for lift off." The female voice came over the intercom.
They all stood up, walking to were all of the mundanes were going. Thankfully, the security did not manage to catch their seraph blades, steles, or any other weapons. They even managed to pass Bob off as a five-year-old with a skin coloring disorder.
None of them, Alec had learned, had ever been on a plane before. This was something new. Alec held his ticket out to the women, who smiled at them.
Alec immediately noticed her pointed ears and the vine pattern running up her neck. She was a Seelie. Hopefully, she wouldn't try to kill them.
Thank the Angel, she didn't. She let them walk past. When they boarded the plane, Alec looked around at the people already seated. He saw a few claw marks, meaning Werewolves. There were also some Seelies, as well as Vampires. No Shadowhunters or Warlocks.
He sat in his seat. Magnus at in the one next to him. Alec had the window, which he was happy about. He wanted to be able to see everything.
Two of the Seelies had weapons, but they didn't seem to be looking for people to kill.
Bob sat in the last seat in their row, next to Magnus. Across the aisle sat Jace, and two other Shadowhunters they were with. The rest of their group sat behind them.
"Okay, can I have everyone's attention please?" Alec moved his gaze to the front of the plane, where a lady stood, wearing a pink maiden's dress.
She began to show them how to use the seatbelt, and what to do in case of an emergency. She told them where the life jackets were, how to put on an oxygen mask, and a bunch of other things Alec wasn't really paying much attention to.
This was going to be a very long day.
Simon's POV
"Mmm," Isabelle eyes widened as she tasted the icecream Simon had gotten her. "This is amazing." She said with her mouth full of the stuff.
"I still can't believe you've never had ice cream before," Simon exclaimed, licking his own icecream.
They had just left the IceCream Factory, and were now walking down the streets of Brooklyn. Isabelle had Simon's jacket draped over her shoulders.
Isabelle had picked strawberry and vanilla. It was starting to melt despite the chilly weather, dripping down her hand and onto the snake bracelet. Simon smiled. She was attacking it like a wolverine.
"Slow down, Isabelle. You're going to get a brain freeze."
She immediately stopped licking the icecream, holding it out in front of her as far as her arm could reach.
Simon laughed. "You're brain doesn't actually freeze, Izzy."
"Oh," She visibly relaxed, licking the ice cream once again. Simon shook his head, a giant smile on his face.
They were on a boardwalk now, and the moon was high above them.
"This is nice," Izzy said, smiling. She slipped her free hand into Simon's. Simon smiled in return, replying with a simple 'Yeah,'
The sat on a bench, watching the waves. Isabelle's head rested on Simon's shoulder, her hand still entwined with Simon's.
It was perfect.
