Magnus's POV

"Are you ever going to tell me what happened?" Magnus asked quietly, running his hands through Alec's hair.

They were back at Magnus's loft. Magnus sat against the headboard of the bed, and Alec laid with his head in Magnus's lap."Maybe one day," Alec replied.

Magnus sighed. Alec had refused to tell him precisely what had happened last night, other than the fact that he and Jace had killed Jonathan.

"Did he say something to you?" Magnus asked. He was worried. Alexander had been awfully quiet, and it made him uneasy.

"Magnus, please. I don't want to talk about this anymore, okay?" Alec sat up, much his disappointment.

Magnus put down the book he had been reading. It was not very interesting. The title was 'The Great Train Robbery,' and Magnus was on the two-hundredth page and dying of boredom.

"No, Alexander. There is something you're not telling me. I thought we weren't going to keep secrets anymore,"

Alec sighed, closing his eyes and leaning his back against the headboard, exhaling deeply. "I know, but with this, I just..." His voice trailed off.

Magnus rubbed his thumb in soothing circles on the taller's hand. "You don't have to tell me." He whispered. "You don't have to tell me anything at all."

...

Alec had fallen asleep around an hour ago, his chest rising and falling in deep, even breaths. Magnus had pulled the blanket over his boyfriend. But Magnus couldn't sleep. Instead, he sat wide awake, listening to the sounds of the city and Alec's little snores. Alec began mumbling something.

"No, Jace, Jonathan..."

Magnus turned his full attention to the shadowhunter. He didn't want to wake him up, not yet anyway. He wanted to know what Alec wouldn't tell him.

"I'm not. I don't deserve it." Alec mumbled. "I don't deserve him."

Deserve who? Magnus wondered. Magnus's eyes widened when he saw how Alec's fingernails were digging into his arm, causing him to bleed. That's what made him decide to wake him up.

"Alexander, hey, wake up. It's just a dream," He said softly, pulling Alec's hand away from his arm.

Alec's eyes flew open. He sat up, clutching the sheets. "D-did I wake you?" He asked.

Magnus shook his head. "No," He healed Alec's arm with his magic. "I was already up."

"Oh," Alec said, a little sadly.

"Alexander?"

"Hmm?" He hummed in response.

"What were you dreaming about? You said something about Jace, and Jonathan, and not being good enough."

"It's just some things someone said to me. I've just been thinking about it a lot. I can't decide if it's true. If I even want to believe it. I don't know how people would react if I told them..."

"Told them what?" Magnus waited a while for Alec to answer, but he remained silent. "You know you can tell me anything, right?"

"I know. I just know how to say it."

"You don't have to. Just don't think about it, just do it. You know, like that mundane shoe company. The one with the checkmark logo."

"Okay, I think I can do that."

Magnus shook his head. "I thought I just said not to think, Alexander."

"Right. I should just say it."

"Mmhm."

"Jonathan... Jonathan said, I'm-I'm... he said..."

"He said what?" Magnus didn't want to pressure him, but he knew he had to Alec to say it before he over thought and changed his mind.

Alec ended up blurting the whole thing in one sentence, like a kindergartner explaining his choice of toys for show and tell.

Magnus's jaw dropped. He couldn't decide whether he was the happiest man alive, or if he was scared, or maybe worried.

"H-how?" Magnus asked.

"Raziel. When he, uh, when he brought me back to life."

"And how do you feel about it?"

"I'm not quite sure. Like you explained to me once, it can be a curse sometimes. Watching the people you love grow old and eventually die while you stay the same..." He put his hand on Magnus's, holding it tightly. "But then again, I'll still have you."

Magnus didn't exactly know what to reply. What did you say when your boyfriend tells you that he's immortal now because the Angel Raziel wants him to be the new Ithruriel?

"So, are you like, full Angel now?" Magnus asked.

"I have no idea."

Something clicked in the back of his brain.

"That was you, wasn't it? The thing that picked me up after the fight with Lorenzo? The thing with the white wings?"

Alec nodded. "Yeah, that was me."

"By the Angel," Magnus muttered. "You can fly."

"What?"

"I've always wanted to fly. I mean, I could if I wanted to with my magic, but I always thought it would be cool to have wings."

"Magnus..."

"I'm kidding, Alexander. Just trying to lighten up the mood." He inhaled through his nose. "So. You hungry?"

Isabelle's POV

"Are Magnus and Alec coming to dinner tonight?" Jace asked as Isabelle ran back and forth across the room.

"Still haven't heard back from them. They're probably busy. Or sleeping." She looked at Jace. "Speaking of, you should go back to bed. You look like you could use a little more rest."

"I'm not tired,"

Isabelle raised an eyebrow. "And? I wasn't asking. Go to bed, Jace. I'll wake you up in a few hours."

Jace sighed. "Fine,"

Isabelle smiled in satisfaction. "That's what I thought,"

When Jace left, she fished her phone from her back pocket, texting Imogen. Tonight's dinner was going to be more than just a victory celebration, but they were giving awards to Jace and Alec for killing Jonathan. Imogen said she had quite a few people she wanted to give recognition to, and figured the dinner would be the perfect time.

Isabelle could already see Alec blushing. But she knew this would be good. They needed something like this to happen; something to take people's minds off of the recent battle. It hadn't even been twelve hours since Jace and Alec had appeared in the Accords Hall, announcing Jonathan's defeat.

Tonight should be fun. Isabelle had a playlist she was going to play, all songs that she knew the rest of the shadowhunters would probably like, plus, she and Bob were going to bake a cake. Even though several people had told her not too.

A/N: Hey y'all. Here's a chapter. It's kind of short. And I kind of just threw in the secret I had been planning since like chapter twenty. I couldn't think of any other way to do it. Anyywaaayyy, guess who bought the Infernal Devices series? Me! So I literally read three chapters, THREE chapters of Clockwork Angel, and I'm already in love with Will Herondale. I love him. Also, I have school in three days on Thursday, so if I end up not finishing this story by then, then the updates would be a lot slower probably because school is from seven in the morning to five in the evening for me because of sports, Beta club, and a bunch of other stuff. Anyway, thanks for reading, love y'all, byeee.
