Simon's POV

"I just don't get it," Jordan was saying. "What is going on lately?"

"I have no idea. Clary said it was because of that Jonathan guy."

"Jonathan Morgenstern? This is all because of him?"

"Apparently." Simon chuckled. "And we thought Valentine was bad."

"He was," Jordan replied. "This is just worse."

There was a knock on the door.

"Pizza's here." Jordan jumped off of the couch, walking to the door and grabbing the cash off of the table. He opened the door, handed the guy the cash, took the pizza, and said thank you. Shutting the door behind him, he brought the box of pizza to the couch, where he sat down once again.

Simon took a slice. He hadn't had pizza since he became a vampire. He pulled a little bottle of blood from his back pocket, putting it on the pizza.

"I don't know how you do that," Jordan mumbled, his mouth full of cheesy goodness.

"Do what?"

"Eat nothing but blood. That has to be hard."

"Yeah, it sucks. Ice cream doesn't taste so great when it's covered in blood."

Jordan laughed. "Yeah, I wouldn't think so."

"You up for a round of Mario Kart?" Simon smiled.

Jordan set down his slice of pizza. "You're on. I haven't had the pleasure of whipping you ass yet today."

"We'll see about that."

"Oh yeah?"

"Oh yeah."

"Challenge excepted."

Alec's POV

"Alec!!!" A small voice yelled. He turned around to see his favorite little sorceress running to him. He opened his arms and she ran into them, embracing him in a tight hug.

"Madzie!" Alec smiled.

"Where's Magnus?"

Alec's face fell. "He's uh... he's sleeping."

Caterina looked at him sympathetically.

"Oh,"

"I'll tell you what," He said, catching Max's eyes, who was standing in the doorway watching them. "Why don't you go play with Max?"

Max smiled. He loved younger kids. The two of them ran off to who-knows-where.

Once they were gone, Caterina turned to him. "How's Magnus?"

Alec shook his head. "I don't know. They won't let me go in there."

"Why not?"

Alec hesitated. Then he decided against telling her what had happened. "I don't know." He lied.

"Well, thank you for watching Madzie. I have to go or I'llbelate to work." Caterina said. Alec nodded. "Oh, and Alec?" He looked at her. "Take care of yourself, okay?"

She didn't wait for him to answer, which Alec was grateful for. He didn't understand why everyone was suddenly so worried about him. Sure, this past month he had been a danger magnet, but he was fine now. At least, he thought he was.

"Alec."

"What?"

Jace walked up to him, looking rather worried. "Jonathan... he sent a message." Jace held out a piece of burnt paper.
