Magnus's POV

It was around three AM when they arrived in Europe. Unfortunately, they would have to walk all the way to the Penhallow's mansion in Alicante, where they would be staying.

Magnus was tired. He and Alec hadn't done much sleeping, even though he did get Alec to bed earlier.

Magnus had had to form a magical wall around them, since everyone's bed was in the same room. The others couldn't hear or see what they had done that night, which the two of them were very thankful for. That would have been very awkward.

Alec picked up his phone, about to put it in his backpack when it began to ring. He turned it on, cursing.

"Damn it, Izzy's called me forty-six times." He mumbled. He pressed something on the screen and held the phone up to his ear.

Magnus could hear his sister screaming at him from the other side of the line.

"ALEC, I'VE BEEN CALLING YOU AND JACE AND MAGNUS SINCE EARLIER THIS EVENING! WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU ANSWER?!"

"We were sleeping."

"NO, YOU WERE NOT! ALEXANDER GIDEON LIGHTWOOD, DO NOT LIE TO ME!"

"I'm not lying."

"WHY WERE YOU SLEEPING AT FOUR O'CLOCK IN THE EVENING?"

"Oh, well I wasn't. I was training with Jace."

Magnus didn't hear the rest of their conversation.

They had all been provided with black backpacks. Magnus stuffed some clothes, makeup, toiletries, and other things in his bag. He wasn't allowed to use his magic on land, no matter what. Technically, he wasn't supposed too at sea either, but they had been in the middle of the ocean. No one could track him from there. Hopefully.

"Okay, I love you. Bye." Alec turned off his phone, slipping it into the side pocket of his backpack. The other pocket contained his arrows. His quiver was in the backpack.

Last night, Magnus had found that Alec had some more white hairs. They were hidden pretty well, but they were still there. It worried him.

Either Alec was getting old, or he was so stressed that his hair didn't have enough melanin. Either way, it wasn't a good thing.

Alec had also given him Shadowhunter gear to put on. Magnus felt weird in tight, stretchy, black clothing, but if it would help him not be seen, then it was worth it.

Magnus sighed, pulling on his combat boots. Shadowhunters really needed a new fashion designer. Magnus had no idea how to put one on, but he picked up the leg sheath that lay on the bed. He fiddled with it for a while, but then found himself watching Alec. The shadowhunter was in the process of putting on a different shirt.

Alec blushed when he saw Magnus was watching him. "D-do you need help with that?" He pointed at the sheath in Magnus's hands.

Magnus nodded, holding it out to the hazel-eyed boy. Alec took it in his hands, expertly undoing the straps. He kneeled down to put it on Magnus's thigh. He wrapped the fabric around his leg, buckling it. After pulling a few straps, he stood up again.

He then pulled a seraph dagger from his bag, slipping it into the sheath. "Only if you need it."

Magnus nodded. "Okay."

"You guys ready? The rest of the crew is securing the boat." Jace walked up to them, followed by Bob.

"Yeah," Alec replied, then his voice dropped to a whisper. "What about him?"
