*jens pov*

I woke up to a tongue licking my face..."Mmm...Leah..stop." I moan and smile. Then I open my eyes slowly and I don't see Leah, I see her dog, Blue.

I jump up because it scared me, and Blue jumped back too. I sighed out and rubbed my forehead. "Ughhh.." I groan in pain since my head is pounding. I look over at Blue and he tilts his head, I hold my hand out and he jumps back over to me, so I give in and petted him like he wanted.

Eventually I sat up fully, and waited on the edge of the bed for my vision to stop spinning. I got myself together and stood up, I started to walk into the hallway, but I stopped when I heard arguing?

"Don't be like that.." I hear Leah say. "It's not fair when you do that, I have my own life!" She says, and I start to back up because I don't wanna be nosy, even though I am.

So I went back in the room I slept in, and just sat on the bed and went on my phone. I scrolled through Instagram some, then a couple minutes later I decided to go downstairs. So I opened the door, and it sounded like Leah just hung up.

So I started walking downstairs, and I saw her on the couch rubbing her forehead. "Hey.." I said as I got to the bottom of the stairs. "Hey." She says and looks up quickly. "How did you sleep, are you ok?" She asks and stands up. "I'm fine, just a little dizzy, that's on me though. I'm so sorry." I apologize. "It's fine, it no problem, really." She shrugs. "I honestly don't remember anything from last night, but I know that I probably completely embarrassed myself, and I want you to know that I don't usually do that. I'm a genuine person, and I strive in life for a future....ok?" I assure her that I'm not a fuck up.

"You don't have to explain yourself, it happens to everyone, I just wanted to make sure you were safe." She says. "Ok well, thankyou again.." I smile and step off the last step of the stairs. "Do you need anything? You can have whatever you want out of the kitchen." She says and walks over to me. "Yeah, I should probably eat, I definitely need  some water." I agree with her.

"Your house is amazing by the way, I don't know if I said that yesterday." I say and she giggles. "I'm pretty sure you did, but I don't mind more compliments." She shrugs and smiles. "So what are you craving, I can make you something if you want." She says. "Cereal is fine." I say trying to be simple.

"Are you sure?" She asks. "I'm sure." I nod and sit on one of the stools to the island in her kitchen. "Ok, I haveee....Cheerios, Raisin Bran, Caption Crunch...and that's it." She says and looks at me from the cabinet. "Are you serious?" I ask. "Yeah.." She says confused. "Those are like the grossest cereals ever, what the fuck is wrong with you." I ask and laugh. "Smh, Cheerios aren't that bad." She says. "Fine, I'll have Cheerios, but you need some Lucky Charms, mmm, lemme tell you somethin." I say and she giggles.

She takes them out of the cabinet and makes me cereal. She grabs a spoon and hands the bowl to me. "Thankyou." I say and she nods. Then she gets a cup and gets some water and hands it to me. "Ok, not to complain anymore, but these aren't even Honey Nut Cheerios.." I tilt my head and she can't help but laugh. "Like c'mon now." I shake my head and laugh with her. "Well I'm sorry, maybe if I knew you were sleeping over, I would've prepared better." She says and rolls her eyes and I just laugh.

"Ok, other than the fact that I got drunk, and you had to take me home on our first date, and it wasn't even in a good way, did you still have fun? Like are you glad you went out with me?" I ask and put down my spoon. She puts down her water and looks up. "You just said date..." She tilts her head.

"I-well I just tho- I'm sorry." I shake my head. "It's ok." She giggles. "I had fun, you're a fun drunk." She nods. "Good, I just didn't wanna embarrass myself." I sigh. "Except for when you locked me out of my car." She shrugs. "No, I didn't." I widen my eyes. "Oh my god, I'm literally the worst, like how annoying can I get, you were probably so mad, you probably yelled at me, oh my god did you yell at me?? She probably yelled at me." I say getting frustrated and rub my forehead.

"No-no, it was for like one second, it wasn't even a big deal, I'm pretty sure it made me laugh anyways." She says like it was nothing. I just shake my head and continue eating. "It was fine, don't worry about it." She says and walks around the kitchen towards me. "Ok..." I say hesitantly since I don't really believe her.

"Well, I guess I should probably put my clothes back on and get going.." I say and stand up walking over to the sink to wash out my bowl. "Why?" She asks. "Well I have to go home sometime.." I tilt my head. "You don't have to right now, and don't worry about that, I'll get it." She says so I stop and just put the bowl in the sink. "Stay for a little..." She says and crosses her legs.

I look around for a second, and then back at her. "Ok." I smile and she smiles back. "So what do you do around here?" I ask and walk back over to the stool. "Sleep, eat, that's about it." She giggles. "Mmm, relatable." I nod.

"Do you have any family?" She asks. "My parents live here in New York, but nowhere near me, and my sister lives in Colorado." I say. "No husband or kids?" She asks. "Kids?! God no.." I laugh. "What about you?" I ask. "My mom lives in California with my sister, and my other 2 sisters live here in the city." She says. "What about a husband, any kids?" I ask jokingly. "Nope." She smiles. "Well that's great news." I raise my brows and nod.

"And why is that?" She tilts her head. "Because then I wouldn't be able to do this..." I say and lean forward a little, and lightly kiss her lips. She kisses back, but it doesn't turn into anything more than a peck.

I pull back with a smile on my face, and she just blinks slowly and sighs. "Everything ok?.." I ask. "Y-yeah...maybe you should get going, I have to stop by my work soon anyways.." She says and stands up. "Oh...ok, I get it." I say and stand up too, then we don't really say anything, so I just go back upstairs and change into my clothes trying not to cry.

It's not a big deal, but I overthink everything, did I do something wrong? It was just a kiss and we had been flirting so I thought she wanted it just as much as me, but I guess not..

I go back downstairs and she's leaning on the counter. "I'll see you around." I say and force a smile. "I can take you home." She says and stands up fully. "No, I'll get an Uber." I say. "Are you sure?" She asks. "Yeah, I'm fine, Thankyou." I nod and head out the door.

Well, there goes that, I really thought I had a chance, wow.
