Chapter 25

We ran forward, progressing our position. Anakin ran back to us and said, "We're gonna need reinforcements." Obi Wan told him, "We haven't been able to make contact with the admiral." More of our cannons fired behind us and destroyed a few tanks coming our way.

The droids began to retreat as the clones continued to shoot them. A ship flew over us and landed on the street a ways behind us. "Looks like help has arrived." I spoke as we watched the ship fly above us.

While we made our way to the ship and Obi Wan said, "I wonder if it's my new padawan." Anakin scoffed, "You got a new padawan? I wasn't enough?" Obi Wan nodded, "You were a handful. I'm hoping to have someone more obedient." Anakin replied, "Now that's just rude."

Anakin nudged my shoulder, "You still don't have a padawan." Obi Wan said, "Anakin's right. Do you want to put in a request for one y/n?" I shrugged, "I'm not very sure. I haven't given it much thought." Ahsoka added, "I think you'd be a good teacher." I gave her a smile, "Thank you Ahsoka." She smiled back, "Anytime." Anakin sneered, "Suck up." Ahsoka gave him a death look, "Sorry I have friends." He crossed his arms, "I have friends." Ahsoka rolled her eyes, "Sure.."

We arrived to the ship and watched the door open. A young boy came out of it and walked to us. "You're the reinforcements?" Anakin asked. "I'm Caleb. Master Yoda sent me. He told me to tell you all to return to the Jedi Temple immediately. There's an emergency."

I explained, "Well, the problem with that, we're in an emergency right now." Obi Wan chimed in, "Yes, our communications have been unreliable, but we've been calling for help."

"Master Yoda hadn't heard from you so he sent me here to deliver the message." Anakin sighed and put his hands up in the air, "Great. They don't even know we're in trouble." Ahsoka spoke up, "Maybe you can relay a signal through the cruiser that brought him."

"Not a bad idea Snips." Anakin smirked and looked down at her. Hurrying to the communications, we made contact with a clone. "We're under attack by Separatist warships, but I'll try to make contact with the Jedi Temple. Stand by." The clone said as the communication stopped.

Standing around the communication table, we waited. Relax, y/n. You're impatient. Anakin reached out to me. I focused, trying to reach out to him. How can we do this? He spoke out, through the force. I rolled my eyes, No shit.

The communication table turned on and showed Master Yoda. "Master Kenobi, glad Caleb found you, I am." Obi Wan replied, "Master Yoda, we are trapped here and vastly outnumbered. We are in no position to go anywhere or do anything. Our support ships have all been destroyed."

"Send reinforcements to you, we will-" The transmission began cutting out. The clone from before appeared. "We've lost the transmission sir." Clones walked into the room behind him, "We have to leave orbit immediately. More enemy ships have arrived. We'll get back to you as soon as we can."

"We'll I guess we'll have to hold out a little longer." Anakin said as the transmission ended. Obi Wan turned to the boy, "My apologies, young one. It's time for a proper introduction." The boy said, "I'm Caleb Dume, the new padawan." Obi Wan replied, "I'm Obi Wan Kenobi, your new master." Caleb looked confused, "I'm at your service, Master Kenobi, but I've been assigned to Master y/l/n." He said pointing at me.

It felt like a train hit me. "What? But I never put in a request. There must be a mistake." Caleb crosses his arms, "Master Yoda told me exactly, 'Caleb, assigned to General y/l/n, you are. Supervise your Jedi training, she will.' Then I got sent here." He explained.

My mouth formed a small o. "But.. I didn't put in a request." Obi Wan chimed in, "We'll sort it out later. It won't be long before the droids figure out a way around our cannons." Anakin said and turned away, "I'll check on Rex in the lookout post. Ahsoka, make friends with the kid." Ahsoka rolled her eyes and began making small talk to Caleb.

"I'm going to Bodhi." I mumbled and started to walk away. "Wait!" Caleb yelled running after me. "Look, no offense Caleb, but I'm not gonna teach you. I'm not your master. There's been a mistake." Caleb sighed and slouched over painting a sad look on his face. "I guess I'll never become a Jedi Knight." He began walking away with his pathetic posture.

I knew Caleb knew what he was doing. The sad part was that it was working.

"Come on." I said as I rolled my eyes. Caleb immediately ran to my side and walked with me. "Bodhi, anything new?" I asked. He had his eyes set on the child next to me. "Uh.. no commander but I see you have something new." Caleb put out his hand, "I'm Caleb Dume, Master y/l/n's padawan." Bodhi and the clones looked at me and I shrugged. They shook each other's hand. "It's nice to meet you, Caleb."

A noise began coming from the Separatists's base. "An energy shield. This isn't good." I said. "Pull back!" I yelled to the other clones as the shields came closer. Caleb and I ran to the transmission table where Obi Wan, Ahsoka, Anakin, and Rex were. "They're slowly increasing the diameter, keeping it ahead of their troops." Obi Wan said.

Rex put his hands on his hips, "Heavy cannons are gonna be useless." Obi Wan put his hand to his chin, "As they get closer, we could draw them into the buildings." Ahsoka stepped forward, "If the shield is gonna be such a problem, why not take it out?"

I said, "Ahsoka's right. Someone has to get in and destroy it." Obi Wan looked at me, "Right. Maybe you and Caleb can tiptoe through the enemy lines and solve this problem together." Caleb nodded in excitement, "Will do, Master." Pray for me.
