The next morning, Anakin woke me up gently. "Y/n, we have to go to a meeting." Groaning, I put my arms over my head. "Come on beautiful." Anakin tried to pull my arms away, but I refused.

"You're so stubborn in the morning." Anakin walked to the other side of the bed. "Too bad you won't see me getting dressed." He mumbled, making my eyes pop open and turn to my side towards him.

I will never, ever, pass up the opportunity to see him shirtless.

Anakin had his back to me, then turned around as he adjusted his tunic over his head, bringing it down to his waist. He proceeded to put on the rest of his clothes then said, "Are you liking the show?"

"Very." I smirked at him. Laying on my back, I stretched my arms and legs before raising myself out of bed. Once I was standing, I stretched my arms again and rubbed my eyes.

"You look so cute." Anakin smiled from across the room. "Thank you. You look hot." I yawned. Anakin laughed and ran his fingers through his hair.

Walking to my closet, I set out my normal clothes and began taking off my pajamas, which was Anakin's t-shirt and my loose pants. My upper body was completely exposed at this point.

I could feel Anakin's eyes burning into my skin. Keeping my eyes fixated on what I was doing, I put on my bra and tunic, along with my other clothing pieces.

Then, I slid my pants off my legs. Feeling the cold air nip at my skin sent goosebumps throughout my body. Pulling my pants up, I sat down on the bed and put my boots on.

Once I got back up, Anakin was still staring at me. "Yes?" I asked him. "Even though I've seen you naked a bajillion times, you never seem to not impress me."

Walking up to him, I smiled, "I do my best." Anakin grinned and pulled me into him, "I love you so much y/n. It amazes me what I feel for you."

Laying my head against his chest I replied, "I love you too, Anakin. Our love is one of the only things that keeps me going in this whole thing." Anakin pulled away, but held onto my arms, "What do you mean?"

I sighed, "I'm tired of this war. The Jedi. The dark presence. Why can't we just have peace and order?" Anakin responded, "We will soon. The Chancellor told me he thinks things are going to be better at some point."

I asked, "When'd you talk to him?" Anakin replied, "This morning with Obi Wan. The Chancellor also wishes to see you later today." I questioned, "What for?" He shrugged, "He didn't say, but I bet it's good things."

"I hope. Chancellor Palpatine is a good friend to me." Anakin sighed, "Be careful around him y/n. He may be your friend, but he's also a politician. You know how they can be."

"And Padmé, Senator of Naboo, is your friend." I emphasized the 'Senator' part. "I know, I know. I play it safe when it comes to politics and stuff."

I smiled and leaned into him again. "She's gonna be a mom." Anakin wrapped his arms around me, "Yeah, she'll make a good mother." I sighed, "I miss my mom." I could sense Anakin's sadness, "Me too."

Although my mother died when I was 13, I still feel like I'm with her somehow. It was always her and I since I didn't have a father. It was when I was 6 that the council found out that I was force sensitive. I left my mother behind, then I learned she died years later. Minx helped me cope with her death.

"Do you think we'd make good parents?" I asked. Anakin chimed, "Of course. I'd be the best dad ever and you would be the best mom ever. We'd be unstoppable parents."

I laughed at his excitement, "One day." He mumbled, "One day."

We held each other for a few minutes before Anakin noticed the time. "We should go. Obi Wan doesn't want me to be late and I bet Shaak Ti wouldn't want you to be either."

"Yeah, you're right." We let go and walked to the door. I poked my head out to see no one in the halls and told Anakin, "We're good."

Coming out of the room, we made our way down the long hall, lined with doors, to the elevators. Waiting patiently, I kept my gaze forward. "Any idea what the meeting is about?" I asked. "Nope." Anakin replied.

"Great." I said as the elevators dinged open. We walked in and pressed the lobby button. Standing in a comfortable silence, the elevator moved.

When the elevator's doors opened, we made our way outside to the speeders. Going in the same one as Anakin, he drove us to the Jedi Temple.

-

"Generals Kenobi, y/l/n, and Skywalker will go to Mortis. You must discover the origin of the unknown distress call. The code for this call hasn't been used by Jedi in 2,000 years. We must trace where it's from." Master Kit Fisto said.

"The council fears that this is a trap made by the Separatists, so we are sending a heavily armed cruiser to oversee the planet." Master Mace Windu informed us.

"When do we leave?" I asked with my arms crossed. "After your talk with the Chancellor. We tried to get it pushed forward, but the Chancellor needs to speak with you urgently after the debate." Shaak Ti said from across the table.

"Alright then. It's settled. Go to a unknown planet to find the unknown person who sent the call. Great." Anakin rolled his eyes.

"May the force be with us." Master Mace Windu announced as the lights came on and the planet disappeared from the hologram.

Walking out of the room, I asked Anakin, "What are we gonna do with our Padawans?" Anakin shrugged, "I'm leaving that up to you. Personally, I don't care what they do as long as they don't get killed."

I groaned, "Thanks for leaving me the homework." He smiled down at me, "Anytime."

-

"Ah, y/n, I'm so glad to see you." Chancellor Palpatine said as I walked into his office. "Chancellor, you wanted to see me?" I bowed. "Ah yes, I wanted to update you on the situation." I questioned, "Situation?"

"The war. We've found the whereabouts of Count Dooku and his apprentice." I groaned, "Ventress."

"Yes, but something has changed in their relationship." He sat in his chair. "What?" I asked. "Ventress is no longer his apprentice. Dooku has sent General Grievous to slaughter her and her fellow night sisters on Dathomir."

"That's.. horrible." I hesitated. "Horrible indeed. May I tell you a secret, y/n, like the ones you've told me?" I nodded, thinking about my friend and I's previous conversations.

"I feel as if the war is coming to an end soon." I asked, "What makes you think that?" He explained, "I've overheard the Jedi council, they've said that the war is close to being finished."

"The council never told me." I felt confused. "It seems that they don't trust you, dear friend." I shook my head, "I don't think it's that. I think they just are careful with what they say."

Palpatine hummed, "If that's so, why did General Skywalker get the news from the council, but you didn't?"

A small flame lit inside me. "General Skywalker said that you told him." Palpatine formed his lips in a straight line, "I spoke nothing to him, just that to give you word that I wanted to talk to you later in the day. I even saw the Jedi council talking to him, overhearing that they might give him the rank of Master on the council."

"Oh." Was all I was able to get out as I felt betrayed and angry at Anakin and the council.
