Chapter 69

While Anakin and Obi Wan jumped out of the ships, I took my time to breathe and adjust to the feeling in my stomach. The babies kicking.

Unstrapping myself when it stopped, I opened the ship's door and stepped out into the hangar with my lightsaber ready. Shots flew my way, making me ignite my saber and deflect any.

"Stay there, R7." I told my droid. "R2, locate the Chancellor." Obi Wan said as he and Anakin were back to back, fighting the droids. R2 went to the ship's computer and began his search.

Finishing off the droids, we put away our lightsabers and walked to the droid and waited for him to be done. "You okay?" Anakin asked. "The baby was kicking when we landed. I'm okay now." I felt Anakin's excitement and fear once I said those words.

R2 whistled and projected the ship we were on with a yellow line. "The Chancellor's signal is coming from there- the observation platform at the top of that spire." I stated, pointing at the line.

"I sense Count Dooku." Anakin spoke. "I sense a trap." Obi Wan responded. "Next move?" Anakin looked at him. "Spring the trap."

Starting to walk to the hallway, R2 and R7 whistled behind us. "Stay with the ships, you two. Take this and wait for orders." Obi Wan took out a com link and threw it to R2. R2 caught it with his mechanical arm and beeped in agreeance.

Going down the hall, we stopped at the elevator and waited for it to come up to us. Behind us, the sound of rolling metal made us turn around. "Destroyers." I said.

Taking out our lightsabers, we deflected their shots. The door behind us opened and we walked inside backwards. The door closed in front of us, allowing us to turn our sabers off.

"Drop your weapons. I said drop them." A droid behind us commanded. "Roger." Other droids agreed.  Anakin and I looked at each other before all of us ignited our sabers and cut through the group of droids behind us.

"Roger." Anakin said. "Roger." Obi Wan finished. Laughing together, we stopped when the elevator stopped moving. "Did one of you press the stop button?" Obi Wan asked.

Shaking my head no, Anakin asked, "No. Did you?" Obi Wan replied, "No."

"Well, there's more than one way out of here." Igniting one end of my lightsaber, I began cutting a circle in the roof.

"R2, activate elevator 31174." Obi Wan said into the com link. "R2, do you copy? Activate elevator 31174." He repeated.

Finishing the circle, the piece of metal fell in between us. Jumping up, I landed on the roof of the elevator and clipped my saber to my belt while looking around.

Suddenly, the elevator dropped beneath me. I jumped and grabbed onto the elevator's ledge, holding myself and my child up.

Looking beneath me, I saw the elevator go lower until I heard the door ahead of me open. "Hands up, Jedi." One of two droids said while they pointed their guns at me. Dumb droids.

I heard the elevator stop and I turned my head to watch it- the elevator began going up. "Uh oh." The droids said. Boosting off the ledge to the other side of the wall, I jumped down into the elevator through the roof.

Anakin and Obi Wan quickly turned around and ignited their lightsabers. "It's you." Anakin said in relief and smiled at me.

The elevator stopped and the door opened, revealing an empty hallway. Walking down it, we arrived at the large and open room the Chancellor was in. Hurrying down the steps from the doorway, we went to the chair he was sitting in.

"Chancellor, are you alright?" I asked. "Count Dooku." The Chancellor spoke. Turning around, we saw Count Dooku at the doorway along with two droids. "This time we will do it together." Obi Wan said. "I was about to say that." Anakin replied.

He jumped down from the doorway and took out his saber. "Get help. You're no match for him. He's a Sith lord." The Chancellor said. "Chancellor Palpatine, Sith lords are our speciality." Obi Wan responded.

Anakin and Obi Wan dropped their robes while I kept mine on. "Your swords, please. We don't want to make a mess of things in front of the Chancellor." Count Dooku requested and came closer to us.

"You won't get away this time, Dooku." Obi Wan said. Igniting our sabers, Dooku extended his red saber. Running at him, we clashed our sabers with his. Somehow, the old man managed to slip away from us.

"I have been looking forward to this." He smiled. "My powers have doubled since the last time we met, Count." I stated. "Good. Twice the pride, double the fall."

Going at him, Dooku kept up his defense with the three lightsabers against him. Stopping our sabers with his, he force pushed Obi Wan and Anakin across the room, leaving me against him.

Swinging my lightsaber at him, he blocked it and began going up the steps backwards. I clashed my saber with his as we progressed up the stairs. Going for different spots, he was able to block my strikes as we reached the top.

Anakin took out the two droids on the other side of the steps while Obi Wan caught up with me. Obi Wan tried to hit him, but Dooku blocked it and back kicked me, sending me to the wall.

He held Obi Wan in a force choke and threw him across the room at a balcony. He landed on the ground, but the balcony broke and fell on top of him.

Anakin came up and kicked Dooku off the platform and met him on the ground. Getting up, I hurried to help Anakin who was clashing his saber with Dooku.

Swinging my weapon, Dooku blocked shots from Anakin and I. Kicking Anakin away, it was him and I. Forcing our sabers at a stalemate, I held my lightsaber up as his was pushing down on mine.

"I sense great fear in you, y/l/n. You have hate. You have anger, but you don't use it." He spoke. Pushing his away, I took a breath before swinging my lightsaber overhead and clashing it with his in different areas.

Kicking him once our lightsabers were at a quick stop, I stayed in place as he moved around me. Moving my weapon against his, I slipped my saber under his wrists and brought it up, cutting both of his hands off.

His saber landed in my hand and I held them at his neck as he fell to his knees in front of me. "Good, y/n. Good. Kill him. Kill him now." Dooku turned his head to the Chancellor as if he couldn't believe what he said.

"I shouldn't." I denied. I watched the old man's eyes as if they were pleading, but I couldn't tell for what; life or death. "Y/n." Anakin pleaded. "Do it." The Chancellor ordered. If I kill him, the war can be over sooner.

In a swift motion, I collided the sabers with his neck. His lifeless and headless body fell to the floor.

Regret and shame came over me, yet reassurance did as well. "You did well, y/n. He was too dangerous to be kept alive." The Chancellor told me. Going to his chair, I used the force to take the handcuffs off of his wrists. "Yes, but he was an unarmed prisoner. I shouldn't have done that. It's not the Jedi way"

"It is only natural. His death was needed if we are to win the war." He reassured me. "Now we must leave before more security droids arrive." The Chancellor walked ahead of us. Stopping next to Anakin, he looked disappointed.

"I'm sorry." I reached out. He shook it off and went over to Obi Wan. He lifted him up into his shoulders and left the room with us.
