Restricted// Anakin Skywalker x Reader (Book 1)

Chapter 3

"I'm sorry Padme, but I must go. Y/n and I will come back. For now, the council ordered more security from Coruscant to come and protect you until we get back." Anakin told Padme in front of the ship. "It's okay, Anakin. Go help your mother." Padme gave him a look of empathy. "Goodbye Padme." We hugged her goodbye. 

Anakin and I walked onto the ship and sat in the cockpit. "You ready?" I questioned. Anakin's expression was stale, "Yeah." Clicking the controls, we took off and left the atmosphere. Setting the coordinates to Tatooine, we jumped to hyperspace. Anakin turned his chair around and sat forward, placing his face in his hands. "Anakin-" He stood up from the pilot's seat and paced behind me. I stood up and walked to him. 

I could feel his fear.

Without saying anything, I placed my hands on his face to make him calm down. He stopped pacing and looked at me in my eyes. We stood in silence, staring at each other. His shoulders dropped and started to take deep breaths. His eyes met mine, then my lips, before he bent down and pressed his lips on mine.

I hesitated, but slowly melted into the kiss. I placed my hands on his muscular arms as he placed his hands on my cheeks. His touch was warm. All I could think about was how wrong this was and what my Master said before we left, but I didn't care. All I could think about was him.

The ship jumped out of hyperspace making us jerk forward, ending our kiss. I quickly went to sit back in the co pilot seat and focused on the controls in front of me. Anakin did the same.

Anakin and I sat in silence until we landed on Tatooine. "Keep your hood up." Anakin advised as we got off the ship and walked towards the city. Pulling my hood up, I observed what was around me. The city was filled with people and animals of many species and different droids and machines.

He led me to a small building with a Toydarian outside fixing a machine. "Let me help you with that, Watto." Anakin grabbed the machine and began working on it. "What do you want? Wait. You're a Jedi! I didn't do anything!" Watto looked up at him with a nervous expression.

"I'm looking for Shmi Skywalker."  Anakin set down the fixed machine in front of Watto. "Ani? Little Ani?" He watched Anakin astonishing. "It is you! Haha! Hey.. could you help me with a few deadbeats who owe me money?" Anakin spoke in a stern tone, "I'm looking for my mother."

"Right. I uh.. I sold her." Anakin looked confused and angry. It made me want to comfort him, so I stepped closer and put my hand on his back. I felt some of the tense in him go away, but his emotions stayed.

Watto acknowledged his expression and quickly reassured him, "I sold her to a guy named Cliegg Lars, but I heard he freed her and even married her!"

"Do you know where they are?" Anakin questioned. "A long way from here. Someplace in Mos Eisley, I think."

"I'd like to know." Watto was scared of Anakin. "Absolutely! Let's look at my records."

"We're here." Anakin announced as we landed in front of a small house. I opened the door and walked off the ship. A silver droid met us as we walked towards the house. "Oh. Hello, I am C-"

"3PO?" Anakin cuts him off. "The maker! Master Ani it's so nice to see you!" C3PO cheered. "Where's my mother?"

"We better go inside." C3PO's voice dropped. We walked down the stairs into the underground sandstone home. C3PO introduced us to Anakin's step brother, Owen and his girlfriend, Beru.

"Is my mother here?"

"No, she's not." A man on a floating chair came towards us and held out his hand. "Cliegg Lars. Shmi's my wife." Anakin shook his hand. "We should go inside. We have a lot to talk about." 

Leading us inside, we entered a small room on the side of the house. We sat down at the dining table while Beru left to get us drinks, 

"Thirty of us went out after her. Four of us came back. I'd be out there with them, but after I lost my leg, I just couldn't ride anymore until I'm healed." Cliegg reassured Anakin.

Anakin stood up from his chair and started walking away. "Where are you going?" Owen asked. "To find my mother." He croaked out. "Accept it son, your mother is dead." Cleigg looked up at Anakin, but Anakin brushed it off and stormed out of the room.

I left the room after him and went outside to find him. He was facing the binary sunset and turned to me as I walked towards him. "Stay here. These are good people y/n."

My heart swelled with sorrow. Wrapping my arms around his neck, we were silent. We soaked up the comforting feeling of each other before letting go. "I won't be long." He lifted his leg over the speeder and took off, leaving a trail of dust behind him. 

Awhile after Anakin left, I felt pain. Not just his own, but other's. The tightness in my chest, my throat closing making it harder to breath. The pain was unbearable to where it had me slightly fall onto the chair by the table. Screams echoed in my head, causing me to put my hands against my head.

"Are you okay?" Beru ran to me and knelt down to my level. Shaking off whatever I was feeling, I responded, "I'm fine, just a bad headache. Thank you." Beru watched me sit down on the chair before leaving to the kitchen. She brought me back a cup of water and sat beside me. Letting my head fall back, I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath. The sound of a speeder caught our attention, making us stand up and go outside along with Owen and Cleigg.

Anakin carried his mother out of the house past us after digging a grave for her. He carefully sat her down in the hole. He didn't speak once since he got back.

Owen helped Anakin shovel the sand back into the hole. Owen offered to do it alone, but Anakin shook his head no. When they were finished, everyone said their memories and goodbyes to his mother.

Anakin was the last one to say something. He stepped forward and dropped to his knees, grabbing a handful of sand and letting it slip through his the openings in his fist. "I'm sorry mom. I wasn't strong enough to save you."

R2 came down the ramp from the ship towards us. "R2? What are you doing here?" I whispered. Anakin noticed and came over to us . He beeped, telling us the Obi Wan sent an important message.
