"I couldn't help but notice your beauty from afar." Van held his hand out. I placed my hand in his and smiled, "Quite a charmer." He chuckled, "I guess you could say that."

Eyeing Obi Wan, I nudged my head which had him walk away into the crowd. "Is he your date?" He asked as he led me onto the dance floor. "No, just an escort." I replied as we stopped.

Music played softly by the band lingered through the room. Van placed his hand on my waist and held my hand. "I don't dance." I back away out of his grip. "You scared?" He smirked. He's like another Anakin.

"No, I just don't know how." I lifted my chin. Van raised an eyebrow, "You? Why, I thought you would be the best dancer here." I chuckled, "Not exactly."

"Let me show you." Van slid his arm around my waist and placed my hand on his shoulder. Placing my hand in his, he held our arms in the air. "Follow my feet." He spoke as he began to move slowly.

Following his steps, I felt a familiar burning sensation hit my skin. I didn't even look around, I already knew. "I apologize, I didn't catch your name." Van said.

I didn't think this far ahead. "Kira, and you?" I asked. "Van. It's a pleasure to meet you, Kira." He smiled. "Same to you, Van."

We stayed quiet as we escalated in the rhythm of our dance. He spun me a few times and dipped me at the end of the song. "That was amazing." He said as he lifted me up.

"It was, thank you." I smiled. "Come. I want to know more about you." He held out his hand. Debating on taking it or not, I placed my hand in his and let him lead me upstairs and outside onto a balcony in the night.

Walking to the railing, he leaned forward against it. "So, where are you from?" He asked. "Bogano." I answered. "I've never been there. What's it like?" Van kept his gaze down at the city.

"Nothing much. Grassy, sink holes, wetlands, mesas. It's pretty boring there." I explained. "Sounds nice. I grew up on Kessel." He said. "Kessel? You were a slave?" I asked as I leaned against the railing next to him.

"No, my father owned them. He ran part of the spice operation before he died." He defined. "Do you run the spice operation?"

"Sort of, it's more like a part time job. Most of the time, I'm a General with the Separatist's now." He said. "That sounds hard, fighting a war." I placed my hand on his arm. Soften up.

"Sometimes. Especially when my leader's master is being a pain in the ass." He exposed. "Who?" I questioned. "Count Dooku, his master 'Darth Sidious' or something. Both of them tire me out."

"What do they do?" I drew light circles on his hand with my finger. He frowned, "What are you trying to do, Kira?" I reassured him, "Just asking. I don't know too much about this war."

He sighed, "Sidious is a Sith who's leading the Separatist fleet." I questioned, "Does anyone know his real name?" He shook his head and looked at me, "No, only Dooku I think."

"Huh." I uttered. "What about you? What's your job?" He asked. "I'm an artist." I lied. "An artist? That sounds nice." He said. "Yep." I finished. Ws stood in silence observing the sky until I spoke.

"Do you know anything more about Sidious? He sounds very interesting." I inspected. "You sure like asking questions. I can't say anymore except that he will soon set the galaxy right. We can finally have peace and order to all systems."

I gritted my teeth, "Sounds lovely." Van chuckled, "Yeah.." He edged himself closer and lifted his hand, brushing his finger against a scar on my shoulder. "You look magnificent tonight." His sharp jawline shone in the moonlight.

"Thank you. You don't look too bad yourself." I turned my body to him. He is a very handsome man. Tall, dark hair, mysterious eyes, a jawline sculpted by the Force.

He stepped closer to me, making us chest to chest. Van placed his hand on my waist and his other on my cheek. "Balcony." I reached out to Anakin.

Hopefully Anakin gets here in time before I have to kiss him. Van started to lean in, but stopped when a man coughed. We turned our heads and saw Anakin in the doorway. "Miss, if you could come with me. We think we found something of yours." Anakin spoke.

I nodded, "Yes sir." I turned my head to Van, "It was nice to meet you, Van." He smiled, "You too, Kira." I walked to Anakin and turned the corner with him.

"Nothing happened, right?" Anakin asked. "No, I got to you before anything." I told him. He let out a sigh of relief, "Good."

"He really is a nice man." I reassured Anakin. "I bet he is, but this is war." He said. "Yeah." We walked in silence with the music playing. "We should get going. Where's Obi Wan?" I asked. "He's waiting on the ship." Anakin replied as we made our way to the exit.

Walking outside, we went to the ship. "That was a bust." I groaned. "Why did the council think he would say anything?" Anakin sighed, "I'm not sure."

Once we reached the ship, we went in and say Obi Wan in the cockpit. Obi Wan asked, "What'd he tell you?" I sighed, "All he talked about was 'Lord Sidious.' That the Sith wants to set the galaxy right to peace and order." Obi Wan put his hand on his jaw, "Well, that was nothing useful."

"Why did the council give this mission? Did they really think he would say anything?" I asked Obi Wan. He sighed, "Y/n, I'm not supposed to tell you this, but I will as a friend. The council feels as if you are split between light and dark. They wanted to see how you would react to Van."

"That's ridiculous. They really can't trust me?" I asked. Obi Wan voiced, "They trust you, y/n. It's just that they want to see where you're at. I know it's silly."

I sighed, "Yeah, it is."
