Chapter 28

We moved to the entrance of the monastery and fought off the droids that marched from their ships. "Fall back!" I yelled as I deflected shots. As clones and I moved backwards to the door, it began to close. Trying to defend the clones, I deflected shots until all were in. Before the door hit the ground, I dropped and slid inside.

Getting up from the ground, I told Bodhi, "Captain, stay here until General Kenobi arrives with reinforcements. I have a plan." Caleb looked up at me. "What are we gonna do?" He asked, still holding the baby. "If R9 is willing." The droid beside Caleb beeped. "Come on." I said as I led them down the hallway to a stairway.

Once we were upstairs, R9 found a place to interact with. "If there's anyway to get out, R9 will find it." I said as the droid interacted with the controls. "I hope it's fast." Caleb sighed and took off the backpack that hung in front of him.

"Looks like he's asleep." I said as I laid back on the sofa next to the controls. "Yeah." Caleb said as he sat down. I closed my eyes and began to reach out to him. Anakin. After a few seconds, he replied. Y/n, how are you? Are you okay? Smiling to myself, I said, I'm okay. We're in a little bit of a situation, but it'll be fine. How are you? Anakin said after a few seconds, I'm fine. I miss you y/n. I replied but stopped after rumbling and blaster shots, I have to go. I miss you too.

Focusing back, R9 beeped and showed a map. "A backdoor landing platform!" Caleb smiled and picked up the baby. "Well call for a gunship when we get there. Lead the way R9." I told the droid.

The com link on my arm went off. "Y/n, come in." Bodhi said. "Y/n?" Caleb questioned. "We've held the droids sir." He said and I looked at my arm. "That's not like Bodhi." I told Caleb. "What is your location?" Bodhi asked. I knew exactly what was happening. "Ventress."

"Dooku's assassin?" Caleb asked. "She's here to kill the Hutt. Come on." I said as R9 led the way. We ran through the halls and made it out onto the platform. "Y/l/n to Obi Wan. Mark my position. I need a medical ship immediately." I said into my com link on my arm. Nothing. "I can't get ahold of Obi Wan. I'll try Bodhi." Switching my controls, I talked into my arm, "Bodhi? Do you copy? Bodhi?"

Bodhi replied after a few minutes, "I read you General. We're pinned down in the courtyard." I asked, "Do you need help?" No reply. "I take that as a yes. We're on our way." I said and stopped the transmission. "Master, the Hutt is really sick. We have to get him to Tatooine alive." Caleb said. "And we will but right now we need to help Bodhi."

Destroyer droids rolled behind the door and pinned their guns at us. Beginning to shoot, we ignited our sabers and deflected the shots. Ventress came up from behind them. "R9 the door!" Before she could walk out, the door slid down.

Two red lightsabers burned through the metal door and moved through the door, forming a circle. "Fuck." I said under my breath. "We gotta go. Maybe into the jungle." I said. "I thought the jungle was a bad place."

We looked behind us at the jungle. "Do you have another plan?" I asked. "Nope." Caleb said with a pop. Below us, spider droids shot underneath the platform, making creatures fly out from under us. "Looks like we're out of options." I sighed.

The baby on Caleb's back began cooing. "What is it?" Caleb asked. We turned around and Caleb said joyfully, "Master! There's another landing platform. With a ship on it!" Caleb turned his head to me, "So how are we gonna get over there?" I replied, "Leave that to me."

Running off of the platform, I free fell until I landed on one of the flying creatures. The creature resisted for a few seconds, then allowed me to take control. Flying back up on the platform, I heard Ventress say to Caleb, "Where is y/l/n?" Flying up and ahead of them, I told her, "Right here, Ventress. Hyah!" The creature rammed into Dooku's apprentice and knocked her over.

Going back to Caleb, I told him, "Get on!" He jumped onto the back of the creature and we flew away. The platform crumbled due to the spider droids shooting it, letting R9 use his rockets to follow us to the platform. We hopped off of the creature, "Great." Caleb muttered as we observed the old ship. "Prime the engines" I told him, "if it has any."

Caleb walked to the entrance and saw the caretaker droid. "Hey, I wondered what happened to you." Separatist droids emerged from the ship, "Everything is loaded." They noticed him and the caretaker droid yelled, "Fire!" He ignited his saber and began deflecting their shots and destroyed all the droids.

"Nice work." I said as R9 and I walked over to him. We went onto the ship and sat in the cock pit. "This isn't gonna be pretty." I said as I tried to turn the engines on. "R9, try opening the fuel lifters all the way." The droid obliged and beeped when he was done. Pressing the button, the ship powered up.

"Great job R9." I said as I began to fly the ship towards the sky. There were lights flickering and booms coming from the monastery. "Master Kenobi is here! Now I get to see some real fireworks." Caleb said as the baby cooed on his lap.

"Excuse me? What do you think I've been doing all day?" I asked offended. "The word reckless comes to mind." He said. "Very funny." I turned my attention to what was in front of us. "We gotta get the Hutt to the medic ship."

"But Master, we promised Bodhi we'd help them." Caleb responded. "We've got to get him to the medics on the cruiser. It's our only chance to get him back to his father still alive." Caleb argued, "But Master, they need our help!"

"Caleb, the mission always comes first. You need to understand that. Master Kenobi is down there doing his part and we're about to do ours, if the Hutt survives." I raised my voice slightly. "Yes Master." Caleb said defeated and laid back in his seat.

Pressing on my com link, I told Bodhi, "Bodhi, we're not gonna be able to help you." Bodhi replied, "We'll be okay sir. The mission always comes first." The communication turned off and we flew through the clouds. Rumbling of the ship caught us off guard.

"Oh great." I said as Republic cruisers fought Separatists cruisers in the sky. Separatist ships flew  at us while shooting. Maneuvering the ship to miss the shots, the ships passed and turned around shooting at us again.

"All we've got to do is land on the Jedi cruiser." I said as I turned the ship away. "But Master the deflector shields are up!" The Jedi cruiser began firing at us, hitting us once. "They must think that we're an enemy ship." Caleb said.

Turning on the com links, I said, "Jedi cruiser hold your fire." A clone responded, "Who is this?" I replied, "This is General y/l/n. We have Jabba's son and he needs medical attention immediately."

"Stand by." The clone said. Caleb sarcastically said, "Stand by? That's helpful." The ship rumbled again. "Hang on!" I said as I flew upside down, trying to lose them. I steadied the ship, but they kept following us. "General y/l/n, we've taken out the shields and the hangar door is open. Hurry." The clone said.

Moving the ship around, I accelerated and flew into the hangar, landing swiftly. The droids from behind flew away. "Activate the shields!" The clones yelled from outside the ship. "Let's go." I said, pressing the door open while getting up from my seat.

We ran out into the hangar to the medic hall. Pushing past clones, admirals, pilots, we ran until we reached the room. The door opened and we have the medical droid the Hutt. "He's really sick and needs to be treated immediately." I told the droid.

The droid took the Hutt to a bed and set him down. "Tell me when he's better." I told Caleb and stepped out of the room. Leaning my back against the door, I began to reach out. Anakin?

It only took a few seconds for him to reply. Y/n. I smiled to myself, I love you. Anakin replied, I love you too. "Master. The Hutt is fine now." Caleb said in the hallway. I didn't even hear the door open. "I'll tell the admiral to get us to Tatooine."
