"Higher! Higher!" Eunji squealed as the nine year old boy pushed her on the swing.

A mischievous glint appeared in Jungkook's eyes, "Alright, you asked for it!"

Using all his strength, he pushed her gently but hard enough for her legs to go flying in the sky. The young girl screamed out of joy as she felt her body going up to the sky.

The cool wind blew through her hair and pushed against her cheeks. Then when she came down, her shoes skidded across the ground to stop her from going any further.

"That was so much fun!" She laughed. "It's your turn now, Jungkook-ah."

Eunji jumped off the swing, walking towards Jungkook. The boy smiled at his best friend, seeing how her once neatly brushed hair was messy from the wind.

"Aish your hair is messy now," He pointed out, reaching his hand to brush a lock of her brown hair out of her face.

Eunji brought her hands up to finger brush her hair nervously, "Jinja?"

"It's okay, you still look pretty," Jungkook said and patted the girl's head. Eunji's cheeks flushed pink at this comment.

Was it wrong to have a crush on your best friend? Jungkook at nine years old didn't have a clue. All he knew was that his heart tended to beat ten times faster whenever he was around Eunji.

She was standing close to him and his unintentionally eyes dropped down to her small pink lips. Maybe he could take advantage of this moment. Jungkook didn't think there was much to lose, Eunji had to have the same feelings.

So without thinking any further, the little boy leaned in closer to meet his lips with hers. But right before their lips could touch, a small hand blocked him from doing so. Jungkook's eyes widened after having accidentally kissed Eunji's hand.

"Silly," Eunji giggled, putting her hand down. "We're too young to kiss."

Jungkook frowned at this, "Waeyo?"

"Only older people are allowed to kiss each other," Eunji said. "That's what my Appa told me."

Jungkook pouted, "When will we be old enough then?"

Eunji hesitated. After a moment of pondering on the best answer to Jungkook's question she said slowly,

"Hm...you can kiss me when we're eighteen."

"Eighteen?" Jungkook asked, thinking about it. Did he really have to wait nine more years to kiss her? Jungkook didn't know if he could wait that long.

Eunji nodded, "Yeah. We'll be adults then, won't we?"

"Yeah I guess," Jungkook sighed defeatedly. Oh well, waiting couldn't be too hard right?

Eunji smiled again and grabbed his hand, "Come on, it's your turn to go on the swing now!"

{Nine years later}

Eunji pumped her legs up and down to give her a boost on the swing. Jungkook, who was on the swing next to her, did the same.

"It's been so long since we've been here," Eunji said, looking up at the night sky as she slowly flew up in the air.

Today was the day of their high school graduation. The day where they finally become adults whether they were prepared to live in the real world or not.

"Surprisingly not much has changed," Jungkook added, looking around the old playground. "Remember we used to play here when we were little?"

Eunji nodded and smiled back at the memories, "Of course I remember. We spent so much time playing here."

Jungkook stopped swinging to admire his best friend. The little girl who always wore her hair in pigtails was replaced with a mature woman who was even more beautiful than when she was little.

He had changed a bit himself too. Though he didn't think about it much, people often told him he had become much more handsome. It wasn't something he complained about. He wondered if Eunji noticed his growth.

"Do you remember when I tried to kiss you?" Jungkook asked.

When Eunji came back down, her feet dropped to the ground. Eunji was frozen, she didn't know what to say. She had been so sure that Jungkook forgot about the memory.

Since then, Jungkook hadn't bothered to make any more moves on her. He had been less affectionate and would tease her more. So she had thought that Jungkook got over his feelings for her.

She of course felt the same way he did. It was inevitable, falling for her best friend. They knew everything about each other, even the little details.

He could immediately tell if she was sad by how she breathed, if she was excited by the brightness in her eyes and the way she fidgeted with her fingers when she was nervous.

Jungkook smirked at her reaction and pulled the chain of her swing so she would be closer to him. Now their faces were in close proximity to each other. He could almost feel the heat radiating off her pink cheeks. He was so close that she could feel his warm breath.

"You said I can kiss you when we're eighteen," He whispered. "Are you going to go back on your word, Eunji-yah?"

Jungkook was typically a shy person, so he didn't know where this sudden boldness was coming from. He was afraid that Eunji didn't feel the same way. But right now, Jungkook couldn't hold in his feelings anymore. He had waited nine years for this exact moment.

Eunji felt her head slowly shake. She wanted to kiss him as much as he wanted to kiss her. With that confirmation, he closed his eyes and caught her lips with his.

The kiss was gentle at first but quickly became a passionate one. His hand found her nape and settled there. Then she closed her eyes too and clenched his sweater in her hands as she kissed back. Soon she was kissing him with just as much passion, filling it with every fantasy she ever had.

Jungkook's lips moved in sync with hers. A small whimper came out, but it could've been from either one of them. He didn't want to pull away, but he had begun to feel dizzy from lack of air.

The two breathed heavily, as their eyes poured into each other's. Their eyes were full of love and compassion.

"I love you, Kim Eunji," said Jungkook after he caught his breath. "I always have."

A small smile stretched on Eunji's. She reached her hand to caress his cheek, "Nado."

Waiting those nine years all felt worth it to Jungkook. He finally had confessed his love for her and she loved him back. Now he would surely never let her go. Jungkook leaned in to kiss her again.

"Look at our Jungkookie all grown up," Taehyung nudged Jimin. The six boys were standing afar from the playground, watching the whole scene play.

"Took him long enough," Yoongi muttered. The others chuckled in response.

Jin sighed, "Ah young love."

Annyeong my lovely readers! I wrote all of this off the top of my head, so I'll probably come back and edit this later. I'm currently watching He is Psychometric right now, and there was the scene where the main characters kissed at the playground. So I got inspired to write a similar scene. I hope you enjoyed reading. Please stay safe and healthy ^_^
