Tomorrow With You (ChanBaek)

Chapter Fifty Eight

Chanyeol pulled Baekhyun into his arms as tears started streaming down on his face. He hated and resent him for the past year without any idea of what Baekhyun has to endure while he is away. He kept him buried on his chest as tears started to soak his shirt and his cries echoed inside the hospital room.

"Baekhyun," he muttered. "I.. I'm sorry. I didn't know."

Chanyeol could not keep his stare at Baekhyun who was in pain because of him, he turned his gaze onto Min Jae who balled his fists out of anger. He tapped Baekhyun's back as he tried to calm him down, and he did not let go until Baekhyun fell asleep.

"I'm going to kill him." He heard Min Jae muttered as he gritted his teeth before walking towards the door. He ran after him and blocked his way, trying to keep him inside the room.

"Where are you going?" Chanyeol asked.

"Get out of my way, Park Chanyeol."

"And then what? Let you do whatever you want with this anger? We are both in the same page here. Don't be the loose cannon that you're not."

"We are not the same." Min Jae warned. "I believed in him and you didn't. I searched for him while you sit on your chair and live comfortably while Baekhyun is out there helpless and in pain."

"Okay, I get it. I was wrong. But you need to admit that you are not as innocent as you think you are. If you had told me about everything sooner, then I wouldn't think that Baekhyun is having an affair after seeing that video of him with Lucas and Kris."

Chanyeol pushed Min Jae away and sat on the couch with his head bowed down and his hands pressed onto his face.

"I even introduced Baekhyun to him." Chanyeol uttered. "I brought Lucas to our house and he met him even more because of me. You were there too. I hate myself as much as you do. I was so stupid that I noticed something was unusual but I just thought that Baekhyun doesn't talk to other people that much that's why he felt awkward towards him. I didn't know he was acting weird around him because he was scared."

He looked away from Min Jae as tears started falling down on his face. He was too ashamed, he knew his tears would not reverse the pain Baekhyun felt, and it will never be enough to forgive him from what he did when he abandoned him.

"I thought he was cheating on me. I thought he was doing it with them while I'm away. Why didn't I see the signs, Min Jae? Why? I saw him often coming home late and limping when he was still living in our house, but why didn't I see it? I watched that video thinking that I hate him for doing it behind my back without knowing that he was being.. he was.." sobs escaped his mouth as his words are replaced by gasps.

"I was trying to tell you." Min Jae said. "Even if it was late, I was going to break my promise to him by telling you everything but you kept on shutting me out. Park Chanyeol, I hate you. If it wasn't for Baekhyun, I could've already killed you that time I saw you in that building. And now that I know what happened to him, I wanted to kill you even more."

Min Jae walked towards the door and opened it. He was half way out when he looked back at Chanyeol who was still staring at the wall away from him. Darting daggers of stares towards his head and throat as his anger has boiled to a great amount, and he does not even know anymore if he meant what he said or not.

"Watch your back, Park Chanyeol. You don't know when I might be holding a knife."

He went out and Chanyeol was left alone with Baekhyun who was still unconscious on the bed. His sobs turned into cries as he let out his anger towards Lucas for what he did to Baekhyun, and his anger towards himself for not believing him when he tried to tell him the truth. He slowly walked towards the bed and held Baekhyun's hand. He buried his face on his unconscious arm and cried even more, thinking how afraid and alone Baekhyun must have felt when he wore that ring in front of him that day.
