Chanyeol woke up to the sound of the radio from outside their room. He could feel the weight on his arm as Baekhyun slept soundly beside him. He tried taking his arm away slowly but Baekhyun suddenly opened his eyes.
"Where are you going?" Baekhyun weakly asked.
"I'm just going to check what Min Jae and Jisoo are doing."
"Jisoo's reviewing for a test. He said he'll go to Seoul next week and Min Jae must be cooking."
"How did you know? You just woke up."
"I already did earlier. You were sleeping soundly, you didn't feel that I already went downstairs and came back." Baekhyun said.
"I'll help Min Jae."
"Chanyeol," Baekhyun called. "you don't have to do this."
"It's been four months, Baekhyun, and he still hasn't changed. Min Jae's your friend and I understand why he's upset with me. But I still want to bring back what we had before. After all, we became friends too."
"He's being too hard on you, isn't he?"
"He's Min Jae. When did he ever easily give me his approval?" Chanyeol said and kissed Baekhyun's forehead. "I'll cook for you. Come down when you're ready."
"Okay."
Chanyeol got up from the bed and walked towards the door. He looked back and smiled at Baekhyun before leaving him alone in the bedroom. After following where the music was coming, he was brought to the kitchen where Min Jae is cooking their breakfast with loud music on the counter top.
"Good morning." Chanyeol said loudly but Min Jae ignored him.
"I said, good morning." He spoke louder.
"My morning was good until now." Min Jae said. Chanyeol turned the volume down and Min Jae finally glared at him.
"Now, you're looking at me. What are you cooking?"
"Just go back upstairs and come down when the food is ready. Asking what I'm cooking doesn't help the food to cook faster."
"Let me help you cook, then." Chanyeol offered.
"I don't need any help. Especially, from you."
"Min Jae, I'm trying here. What do I have to do just for you to forgive me?"
"You really want to know? Get lost. Maybe, just maybe, I'll forgive you."
"I'm not the only one who had regrets here. I'm not the only one who hurt him. If you can't forgive me, you might as well not forgive yourself because you're not the saint you think you are."
Chanyeol twisted the knob on the radio and blasted the music once again before turning his back at the kitchen and walked away. He went to the backyard where he found Jisoo studying at the table he brought outside.
"What are you doing here?" Chanyeol asked.
"I can't focus inside. The music's too loud."
"Jisoo, you can go back home if you want to, you know. You don't have to go through this with your studies."
"We've talked about this. I'm staying. Besides, I don't want to see dad anytime soon. I don't think I could look into his face without being reminded of what he did to Baekhyun."
"I just want you to be sure on what you decide to do. Online classes are hard and not being able to see Yoora or contact her must be harder."
"I know it takes sacrifice but I'm okay with it. After we transport you and Baekhyun to California, I can go back to Seoul and graduate." Jisoo said.
