Evermore

The sound of the sea waves crashing to the shore blends harmoniously with the chirping of the birds while their reflections are painted on the blue ocean beneath them. The sun is high like a floating ball of butter, half-covered by the fluff of evaporated sea water but is thin enough to let its light pierce through their troubling presence. It is noon and Jinyoung found himself standing on a hillside cliff with his eyes closed while feeling the cool breeze brushing through his lightly-tanned skin.

"Jinyoung-ah!" He heard a familiar voice - too familiar - calling him from afar. "Don't stand up too close at the cliff. It's dangerous." The voice said as he was held in the arm by a familiar grasp. This young man looked a couple of years older than him, maybe a year or two, and only a couple inches taller, yet his hands are significantly bigger than his.

"I'm just getting some air. You know I don't get to go out often."

"Why are you even at the cliff? Were you waiting for me here?"

"No. I was waiting for you since yesterday. But since you never came, I gave up on the thought that you were coming." Jinyoung said.

"Give me some slack here. College is hectic and I had to drive all the way to Busan and ride a boat just to get here."

"You brought your car to Busan? Why?"

"I had a last minute paper I needed to turn in and it's also a waste spending money flying from Incheon to Jeju. You know domestic flights are almost as expensive as international ones these days."

"Still, you should've called." Jinyoung whined.

"Oh, come on. Does my little brother miss me that much?" Jinyoung pushed him immediately when he tried to reach for a hug to tease him.

"Go away! That's disgusting! Do I look six to you? I'm already seventeen!" Jinyoung protested.

"Why? Can't I hug my little brother? We haven't seen each other for a long time and I missed you." He once again tried locking Jinyoung within his arms as Jinyoung tried to get away from his grasps.

"Lucas, I swear I'd kill you if you don't release me this instant!"

"Go ahead and try." Lucas challenged and Jinyoung threw his arms open with all his might and got out from his grasps. He faced Lucas and his lip curved into a grin before running towards him and flicking his finger on Lucas' forehead then laughed hard.

"That's what you get for teasing me." Jinyoung said feeling good but suddenly realized that his older brother has landed on the ground.

"Jinyoung.." he called out of pain. "I think I'm not feeling well."

"What.. what's up with you?" Jinyoung nervously asked. "Don't joke around like this. It's not funny. Get up. Get up now."

"Ahh.. Jinyoung.. help me."

"What's going on? What's happening to you?" He felt a little frightened seeing his brother suffer what looked like an excruciating pain as he heaved on the ground. Jinyoung knelt beside him and tried looking from where the pain originated. And that is when he felt Lucas' hand grabbing him and grinned.

"Gotcha." Lucas said in a low, sneaky voice then pinned Jinyoung to the ground. The two wrestled each other, laughing as each get on top of the other.

"Hey! No fair!" Jinyoung protested when he was pinned down and could not get up. "I give up. You win! You win!" Lucas released him and helped Jinyoung get up from the ground, brushing his shirt with his hands to take off the dirt that got stuck.
