The next day.

Y/n: Alright so I should probably explain what happened that night.

Kazuma: You think?

Everyone was gathered in the same room.

Megumin: So what exactly happened that night?! Tell me now!

Y/n: Okay, okay. I know your mad, but hear me out.

Megumin: Mad?! You think I can stay calm after you come back dead and Aqua tells me that she couldn't revive you!! She said you had passed on already!

Y/n: As if I'd go down that easy.

Everyone else: But you did!

Y/n: Alright, alright. Are you gonna let me talk or what?

Megumin let out a heavy sigh and sat down next to Y/n.

Megumin: Explain.

Y/n: Okay, that night after I got sent flying by that dragon, I ended up surrounded by a bunch of skeletons and had to fight my way through the forest. They were pretty weak so, I hardly took any damage.

Darkness: That explains why you didn't have any scratches on your body when you were found.

Y/n: Yup, and the closer I got back to the road, the skeletons backed off and some eerie fog started seeping through trees. So, me being OP and all decided to get ready for a fight, but ended up being ambushed by those same skeletons. I was already low on magic so teleporting was out of the question.

Kazuma: So what happened then?

Y/n: A reaper showed up.

Kazuma: A...reaper?

Yunyun: Like...the grim reaper?

Kazuma: I know of them from my home town, but haven't seen any here.

Aqua: Reapers are extremely rare undead monsters in this world. They're a type of soul harvesting monster. They capture souls and hold them prisoner until they're devoured for magic power. Encountering one usually means instant death.

Darkness: If that's the case, then how did you survive?

Y/n: After I was pinned down, the thing started sucking out my magic and life force with drain touch. So in retaliation, I used drain touch as well. But that thing was super strong and nearly got my soul. So what I did was start transferring my magic and life force into my sword via drain touch. Guess I over used it and ended up transferring my soul to my sword.

Darkness: You...transferred...your soul?

Y/n: Yup, crazy right?

Yunyun: That's...wow.

Kazuma: What surprises me, is that you were able to think of that on the spot. You got a real knack for thinking of the craziest ideas.

Y/n: If I didn't, then I without a doubt would've died there.

Aqua: Wait, how did you figure out his soul was in his sword Kazuma?

Kazuma: I went to Wiz's shop to get more materials and to ask Vanir if he knew anything. Surprisingly, Wiz was able to sense his soul in the sword. So I just put two and two together and he lives.

Aqua: Wow.

Darkness: Well, its good to have you back Y/n.

Y/n: Good to be back.
