Yunyun and Y/n had finally returned to the village at the crack of dawn, extremely fatigued and covered in wounds. The sounds of magic that rang through the night were clear evidence of how severe the trial was. And at the sight of their return...

Crimson Demon 39: Chief! Chief!

Crimson Demon 20: I always knew that Roaring Thunder Yunyun would make it someday!

Crimson Demon 13: Hey Yunyun, we're friends aren't we? Let's go hunting in the forest next time!

Crimson 51: This is a joyous occasion! Tonight is the birth of the strongest chief!

The Crimson Demons simply swarmed the two as they made their way through the village.

Y/n: Well...guess that takes care of that...

Yunyun: Mhmmm...it's finally o...ver...

Yunyun had finally passed out from exhaustion and Y/n had to carry her back to her house. After that, he left to look for the others.

Back at Megumin's house.

Y/n: I'm home...

Kazuma: Hey, welcome back. Looks like that trial really made a mess of you. We could hear magic being blasted like crazy last night.

Y/n: Yea, I'm honestly ready to crash. I need sleep...like now. Where's Yuiyui?

Kazuma: She's out right now getting some groceries.

Y/n: Damn...

Darkness: I'm glad that the trial wasn't too bad for you. Sounds like it was a real ordeal.

Y/n: I don't know what I would've chosen if I got to pick. They all sounded like a pain in the ass.

Aqua: At least you didn't go and die out there.

Y/n: Came close a couple times but it wasn't too bad. Well, it was pretty bad. I thought we were gonna die out there and I lost my sword.

Kazuma: Wait, what was that last part?

Y/n: I lost my sword...

Kazuma: Completely lost?

Y/n: It ran away...

Kazuma: ...It ran away?

Y/n: Mhmm...

The group sat in silence pondering this new found info.

Kazuma: ...Let's go pick up Megumin...

Darkness: S-Sounds good...

Y/n: Hey, wait, why are you all making those faces? Come on, I'm being serious here. It really did run away.

Kazuma: That's the same thing Katsuragi said.

Y/n: Yea, but we know why his armor ran-

Kazuma: Because it's a suit of armor and has legs. I don't know how a sword could run away from you.

Y/n: Ughhhhh...I don't feel like explaining it. Let's just go and get Megumin. Aqua can you heal me so it looks like I didn't take the trial?

Aqua: Sure, but I have a feeling Megumin will find out regardless.

Y/n: Shouldn't be possible, I made sure to cover all my tracks. She couldn't watch the trial from a cell so she wouldn't know if I was using magic or not. I won't be injured and will seem fully rested.
