Part 2: Crimson Demon's Trial

The next morning.

Y/n: Uhhhhhh, why are you two locked up?

Y/n had found himself in the guard room of the Crimson Demon Defense Corps.

Bukkoroli: Oh, it's good you're here. Hurry up and take the two of them away.

Bukkoroli seemed quite exhausted.

Y/n: I don't know, have they actually learned they're lesson?

Megumin: Where did you disappear off to last night, Y/n? If you were here, we would've been able to avoid the Defense Corps. And here I thought you found out about that.

Y/n: I don't even know what that is. Everyone keeps looking at me like I'm crazy. But if you're saying I would run because of it, then maybe I should take off now.

Megumin: There's no need for that!

Y/n: And you, why didn't you stop her?

Darkness: I have nothing to say...

Y/n: Where's Kazuma? It seems like I beat him here, even though I didn't know you two would be locked up.

Darkness: He vanished after Megumin sent him out to make some preparations.

Y/n: For?

Darkness: Ah, well, ummm...

Megumin: Something you don't need to concern yourself with. Hey, Bukkoroli, you do know this will happen everyday, right? So it's best if everyone would just get used to it.

Bukkoroli: I have no idea what you're saying.

Y/n: Well, this girl claims that she'll die if she doesn't cast Explosion every day. The town of Axel is now treating it like a natural occurrence of sorts.

Bukkoroli: I really don't get what you're talking about at all.

Y/n: Nevermind then, alright let's go guys.

Megumin: Hmph, guess it can't be helped. I'll try to finish it as early as possible from today onwards, so please inform the other villagers so that they won't be surprised.

Y/n: On second thought, I don't suppose you could keep her until we're done with the trial? I can pay a fee if you want.

Bukkoroli: Please don't, the Defense Corps isn't a daycare for problem children. Please properly do your job as a guardian...

Y/n: I'm not their guardian though...

Megumin: Hey, would you please stop treating a tender young girl as a troublemaker?!

The troublemaker yelled this from the cell, while Darkness tried to make herself look as small as possible.

After retrieving Megumin and Darkness, the three met up with Kazuma and Aqua who went to fetch Yunyun.

Y/n: So we still don't know when the trials happening?

Megumin: No, we do. It's just they're are other matters to attend to. I haven't even been gone for that long, but it seems like the villagers have really let themselves go.
