In the capital

Kazuma: Darkness!! Darkness, where are you?!

Kazuma and co had made their way to the capital to pick up Darkness and Iris to let them know about the situation.

Darkness: I'm right here, and why are you guys here? I thought we were going to train for a month.

Kazuma: Yea, change of plans. We need to go, like now.

Darkness: Now?! B-B-But...ah...

Darkness's eyes made their way to Megumin who was pacing around in the back of the room and noticed that her animalistic features were no where to be found.

Darkness: ...Is Y/n...?

Kazuma: We don't know, but I think it's best that we don't dilly dally.

Darkness: I-I understand. I'll go let Iris know.

Darkness then left the group to inform Iris.

Kazuma: Okay, Yunyun, last chance. Once we leave here, we're probably going to have the fight of our lives.

Yunyun: I'm going...I have to go! Y/n's one of the nicest people I've met who doesn't exploit me for food or money.

Kazuma: Then it's settled. Aqua, I want you to stay as close as Darkness as possible. If you go down, this whole mission is a bust.

Aqua: Ehhhhhh, this is weird. Like really weird. Kazuma isn't the type to give orders like this.

Kazuma: I literally instruct you guys whenever something big happens. I can't control whether you guys listen though.

Aqua: Okay, okay, I'll stay by Darkness's side. What about Megumin?

Kazuma: The only thing she can do is stay by Darkness. She's the most defenseless out of all of us. Iris and Yunyun will probably be doing most of the fighting. We'll be providing support as best we can.

Aqua: Hmmmmm...

Yunyun: Are we really going to fight the Devil Kings daughter?

Kazuma: I don't want to, but we probably won't have a choice. I'd imagine she'll come for us as soon as we step foot into her castle.

Iris: She'll be aware of our presence the moment we breach the barrier.

Everyone turned their attention to Iris who emerged out the other room with Darkness, both in full armor.

Kazuma: Iris...

Iris: It's good to see you again, Kazuma onii-sama.

Kazuma: Likewise, and you mentioned a barrier of some sort? What's the deal with that?

Iris: Ah yes. Zenia's castle has a barrier surrounding it than appears to be harmless, however the overwhelming pressure once you breach it is unimaginable.

Kazuma: So, is there anyway we can get in, without going through the barrier?

Iris: Afraid not. It mostly acts as a deterrent for intruders. But since we're willingly going through, it may prove difficult.

Aqua: If the barriers the problem, then I should be able to open a small hole in it, and get us all inside safe and sound.

Kazuma: You can do that?

Aqua: Uhhhh, hellooooo? Remember the barrier that the destroyer had?

Iris: That's right, you guys did play a major part in that event.
