Nicole's POV
I hear that familiar rhythmic knocking at my apartment and I knew it was Olly.
My stomach fluttered with butterflies and the moment I open the door I see her put on a fake smile at the last second. It's like she's seen a ghost.
"Come in," I gesture her in and pull her into a hug.
"You miss me already huh?" She embraces my arms and wraps her arms around my waist.
"No, you're about to tell me why you just gave me a fake smile," I parted from her and cocked an eyebrow. Guilty as ever.
"I can't lie and I won't lie to you... I just met my mom," she fumbled around with her words as if she's unable to believe them herself.
I wanted to sit her down somewhere so we could talk because she was starting to cry but I don't have any furniture, I just got it leased.
"Follow me," I whispered and took her hand. I guided Olly to the bathroom and folded a couple of towels in the bathtub.
"This will do for now," I sat in the tub and made room for her to sit in between my legs and lean back into my chest. I could feel her whole body tremble and I couldn't do anything but hold her.
Olly kisses my hand and gives a shaky sigh. Damnit child I'm supposed to be comforting you, yet you make the opportunity to comfort me. Let me take care of you.
"I didn't know what to say or what to do, I literally just left and said I needed to clear my head as an excuse to come see you. You always make me feel good about myself despite the crazy and stupid shit I do," she blurted.
I muzzle my nose in to her neck and kissed the back of her shoulder. I notice that I have an amazing affect on her as she eases in my touch.
"You just came straight here? You didn't at least ask her why she suddenly appeared?" I rubbed her shoulders and she couldn't stop shaking.
"I'm still trying to accept the fact that she still exists Nicole. After that, I'm not sure if I'm suppose to be happy or mad she came back after all these years," she shrugged and rubbed the top part of my hand in circular motions.
"I don't wanna go home just yet... for some reason, it's better with you," she confesses and my heart started fluttering.
"I'm serious; at school, people see me as one thing. At home-well, it used to be a safe spot, until my mom showed up- But with you," she takes my hand into hers and places it above her heart. It's like it's about to burst right out of her chest!
"I don't have to hide myself with you. You've seen me at nothing but my worst and you're still here. You don't look at me any different. That's all that matters to me," she confesses.
"Oh, Olly," I whispered into her neck.
"Hehe, Olly," she repeated back to herself and giggled.
"Where did the nick name come from?" I changed the topic into something hopefully more enlightening.
"Freshman year second semester, I was the new kid from our rivalry school and it was tough to start of fresh when everyone recognizes you as a class treasurer at such a young age. I was basically a more valued asset than our Rivalry's class president. So for me to just pop up at Key West was not a good look," she rolled her eyes.
"Anywho, I wanted to make a good first impression but this was unintentional. I initially wanted to run for class treasurer and show everyone I could be a great asset to the school social wise but during elections, there was a... mishap," she turned to face me and wiggle her brows.
