chapter forty seven ~ the one with janice
Heather's POV

Moving in together. That's a big step in a relationship and it's a step that I don't take lightly. Something that I would never rush into and it was something that I never did rush into. What I felt for Nick was so much love and happiness, more joy than I had felt when I was with Carl and I was so glad that things had worked out this way between us. But there was no way that I was moving in with him after we had only been together for a few months. I loved him and I could see myself having a future with him but something about moving in shortly after saying 'I love you' didn't feel right. It just felt like he wanted to hit every single milestone as soon as possible and then our relationship would be over; which was something that I didn't want. I wanted to take my time with this relationship and really enjoy spending time with him, maybe we would move in together but it wasn't going to be any time soon. Nick was still at his convention but as soon as he came home, I was going to be honest with him and tell him that we weren't moving in together.

Something else that didn't seem right was that somehow Chandler and Janice were back together. The cyber woman that my brother had been obsessed with, turned out to be his annoying ex, who was now working through a divorce so that she could plan her new life with Chandler. I couldn't believe it, none of us could and we couldn't believe that once again Chandler had been dragged back to her when he could do better. He argued that Janice was pretty, smart and funny, and that he was basically running out of women who would possibly marry him; my argument was that I was not going to let him marry Janice and make her my sister in law. I couldn't stand her laugh, and I couldn't understand her accent, therefore, I was not ready for my brother to bring her into the family or possibly create mini versions of her that would be related to me.

The only other person who seemed to hate Janice more than me, was Joey and he was hoping that he could change Chandler's mind on the whole thing because he was the only person who could get rid of her. It was up to me and him to get my brother to wake up and realise that his soulmate wasn't Janice. He was bound to end up with someone a lot better if he just abandoned the idea of his last option being a divorced mother of several annoying babies. That was hard for me to admit, I love babies and looking after them is something that I really enjoy but after finding out that Janice had children, I vowed to never let her convince me to babysit her offspring because that would ruin my opinion of babies. And to be honest, would probably put me off having my own; so, I wasn't going to let Janice ruin my future.

"Heather, quick, come in." Joey said, pulling me into his apartment.

I had rushed over when he called me and told me that there was an emergency, I didn't know what was going on because I had kind of avoided my friends for the last couple of days so that I could clear my head; but as soon as Joey said emergency, then I came straight over. "What's wrong? Did something happen?"

"No, nothing's wrong, I just need your help with something."

I stopped him, shaking my head. "If you're talking about Janice, then I already know what you're going to say but we can't do anything. Chandler really likes her and it's his decision to make; we can't do or say anything that will change that."
