chapter eighty four ~ the one with hasty decisions
Heather's POVMy secret relationship with Joey was better than ever, sure we had had a few small arguments here and there but we were working through everything. This was the happiest that I had ever felt and it was all because of him, he was making me so much happier and I couldn't believe how lucky I was to be with someone as amazing as him. When we first started going out, I was worried that he wouldn't take this seriously and would just use me until he got bored of me; but we had been together for a few months now and things were going perfectly. I knew that he wasn't just using me because we still hadn't had sex yet and I was certain that this was the longest period of time that he had gone without doing it; which I was proud of him for, it showed that not every relationship had to revolve around sex. We were spending more time together than before, making it harder to lie to our friends but we were doing it for a reason and the dates that we had together were worth the string of lies that we had made up.
Today we had organised to do something, just the two of us and had been brainstorming ideas for a fun date that we would both enjoy. I had been in work all day and couldn't help but daydream about the idea that we were going to have a magical evening together. Melissa had been talking non-stop about how Nick surprised her the other night with a romantic date in his apartment but I hadn't even cared about what she was bragging because all I could think about was Joey. As I walked up the stairs, I heard a door close and looked up to see that my boyfriend had just come out of his apartment and seemed to be going somewhere; which confused me because we were supposed to be spending the evening together. "Where are you going?"
"We've got tickets for the Knicks!" He answered excitedly, jumping on the spot and clapping his hands.
"We?" I questioned, gesturing my hand between us. "As in, you and I?"
"No, we as in, me and Chandler. The girls gave them to us and we're going right now."
"Right now? Isn't there anything you've forgotten about?" I asked, my eyebrow raised because I couldn't believe that he had forgotten about their plans.
"Oh, I almost forgot! My foam finger!" I didn't even have the chance to argue with him because he had rushed back into the apartment to grab his favourite thing before grabbing Chandler and leaving.
I couldn't believe that he had done this, he had cancelled our secret date and I was furious. We hardly ever made plans as most of our dates were spontaneous but the one time that we did and he couldn't even remember. It was appalling, he would rather spend time with my brother than me and I was in the mood to get him back. When entering the apartment, I saw that the girls looked upset, they had obviously given the tickets away in the hope that they could win their apartment back but obviously that hadn't worked. It didn't make sense for the boys to have the bigger apartment, especially when they weren't using it to its full potential and the girls were my friends; in that moment I made the decision that Joey and Chandler would probably hate me for. But I had an idea and I was going to help the girls get their apartment back.
