chapter sixty four ~ the one with an ex-boyfriend
Heather's POVWatching Monica get excited over a dollhouse was one of the funniest things that I had witnessed and was taking my mind off the job interview which I had just returned from. Chandler was sat next to me on the couch and Ross was watching from the kitchen table as Monica pointed out all of the little details that came with this massive dollhouse. "Look at it! The wallpaper's a little faded but that's okay. Carpet's a little loose. Hardwood floors!"
"Hey." Phoebe says, walking into the apartment with a massive cardboard box in her hands. "Oh! Monica, it's so beautiful!"
"I know!"
"So, I'm here, ready to play. I brought a bunch of stuff for the house." She said, settling the box down before pulling out a giant china dog. "Check it out."
"What's this?"
"That's a dog, every house should have a dog."
Monica frowned. "Not one that can pee on the roof."
"Well, maybe it's so big because the house was built on radioactive waste."
"And is this in case the house sneezes?" Chandler questioned, holding up a clean tissue.
Phoebe rolled her eyes at him. "No, that's the ghost for the attic."
"I don't want a ghost." Monica snapped, and I could feel where this conversation was heading.
"Well, nobody wants a ghost. But you've got one. Because the house is sitting on an ancient Indian burial ground."
"Wait a minute, the house was built on radioactive waste and an ancient burial ground?" Ross laughed from the kitchen. "That would never happen."
"Okay, obviously you don't know much about the US government." Phoebe replied as I moved to see what else she had brought with her for the dollhouse because at this rate, it would be a very interesting place to live. "Dinosaur attack, quick, everybody into the house!" She waves a green dinosaur toy in my face, shouting 'ruff' as I tried to push it away, laughing at her craziness.
"Alright, Phoebe, that's it." Monica snatched the toy out of her hand, silencing the laughter that we had been making. "No dinosaurs, no ghosts, no giant dogs, okay? They're not the right size, they're not Victorian and they just don't go."
"Okay, fine." She replied, taking her things away from the dollhouse and putting them back into the cardboard box. "Come Dinosaur, we're not welcome in the house of no imagination."
Ross stepped away from the dollhouse and crossed his arms, a sneer on his face as he spoke. "Phoebe, while we're hovering around the subject, I just have to say that dinosaurs, they don't go 'ruff.'"
"The little ones do." She answered, a threatening look in her eye which not only scared Ross but everyone else in the room as we all silently agreed to not cross Phoebe.
