Chapter 44 - Coffee shop

I took a taxi at umuwi ako nung araw na yon. I didn't bother waiting for Yjasmin or Rich because my mind is telling to just go home.

Hindi kaya ng mga mata ko na makita si Erika. Makita syang masaya sa buhay na dapat ay para saken. Pero para sakin ngaba? Hindi ba sakanya naman una palang?

I took all of my clothes and changed into a new one. I decided to meet up with my business partners para sa pagtatayo ng coffee shop. If my opening would be successful then I'd be happy to open a restaurant just near the shop.

My dad also helped me start this business. Na process na lahat nasa Singapore palang ako and also nakatayo nadin yung place. The menu is also fixed and Ang kaylangan ko nalang ay i open ito. Well yun ang pag uusapan namin. Kung kaylan ang soft opening ng shop.

Si daddy ang kumausap sa mga business partners namin kaya first time ko silang makikita ngayon.

I mean sya dahil nabanggit ni daddy na mag isa lang naman daw sya.

He also helped dad na itayo tong coffee shop and doon na kami mag m-meet. I took my phone and wallet at nagpahatid pa ako kay Kuya dahil wala pa akong drivers license and I don't really know how to drive a car.

Sa susunod ko na yon p-problemahin at ngayon kaylangan ko ng pumunta don dahil baka magalit pa sya.

I don't even know why dad has a business partner eh maliit na coffee shop lang naman yon. It's not like I'm complaining. I'm just a starting business owner and sure I'll need someone to guide me. Pwede namang si dad but I guess professional din siguro yung mag magtuturo talaga sakin.

"Make sure na matino yang business partner na kinuha ni dad ah. I'll really buy the shares para lang maging safe ka" gosh Kuya Clave is still so protective.

"Yes!" I waved goodbye and entered the coffee shop. Wala pa sya dito and that's a good thing so I could check the furnitures first.

The place is mostly wood and it gives you a nature vibes. I like it. Wala pa ang mga empleyado because obviously wala pa dahil day off nila today for training bago mag start ang business.

I also need to study this cafe as a owner because as far as I know dad named this coffee shop to me.

It's not gonna be a problem since may mga barista at bakers padin naman. Kumbaga ang coffee shop na to ang start ng business ko. It's just small and maybe 10-30 persons ang kasya. It's really just small.

Nung nasa Singapore pa kase ako ay pinaplano ko na to. The cakes are my recipe and the bakers already know that. Hindi naman ako pwedeng nandito lang everyday pero sa start ng business ko na to ay baka maging hands-on talaga ako.

I like baking cakes and yun talaga ang naging hobby ko sa Singapore.

"Are you done looking at the place?" I was shock when I heard the familiar voice behind me.

Sa Gulat ko ay natamaan ko pa ang bangko sa likuran ko at muntikan pa akong matumba. Kaya naman hinila ko ang damit nya kaya naman sabay kaming natumba.

"Chill. First meet palang natin ulit after 5 years pero wild mo na" I glared at him and pushed him so I can stan up.

"Ano bang ginagawa mo dito?!" I growled and pushed him again.

"What? I'm your business partner" I gasped. Tinakpan ko ang bibig ko na naka bukas dahil sa sobrang gulat.

Sa lahat naman ng kukunin ni daddy bakit sya pa? I mean ang dami namang pwedeng kunin dyan na Mas magaling pa dito. What does he know about running a business anyways? I mean yes he's the CEO of their own corporate pero hindi naman ibig sabihin non marunong syang mamahala ng coffee shop?! Anong matutulong nya dito? Sisinghutin yung coffee beans?

"You can't be my business partner" I the smirk on his face got wider. Nagulat ako sa biglang paglalit nya sakin at ako naman ay humahakbang paatras

This scene is so familiar.

Lagi kong nakikita tong mga eksenang to sa movie and nababasa sa mga novels. Ang gagawin ng lalaki ay i t-trap nya ang babae tapos hahalikan.

Tinakpan ko ang bibig ko para kung sakali mang halikan nya ako ay hindi nya magagawa. Teka bakit ba ang assuming ko? I removed my hand and stood up confidently.

I'm sure he won't do that. Pamilyado syang tao and he knows what right and what's wrong. Hindi na kami bata para maglaro pa ng mga ganito.

Iniwa ko sya doon na nakatayo at umupo na sa upuan.

If he's professional then show it. Hindi yung kung ano anong laro ang pinapakita nya.

My heart is beating so fast. Hindi ko alam kung naririnig na ba pero rinig na rinig ko ang lakas ng tibok ng puso ko. I should calm down dahil baka mahalata nya na may effect padin sya saken.

"So let's talk about business and be professional" I just look confident but trust me, nanginginig na ang kalamnan ko dahil sa kaba.

If I could only change my business partner I already did. Pero sya yung choice ni daddy! Maybe he's really a big help to my business. I trust dad and his decisions

"I'm professional Nuguid" my surname sound so wrong coming from him.

"Shall we start, Sullano?" So surname basis pala kami ngayon. How I hate this day. I just saw his wife earlier today tapos sya naman? Akala ko ba umalis to ng bansa?

What is this? A scam?

"Hindi ko alam kung ano na ang napagusapan nyo ni dad tungkol sa coffee shop but I trust my dad specially to this one. Hindi naman siguro sya kukuha ng isang hindi professional pagdating sa trabaho" I heard him chuckled and that made me annoyed. Anong tinatawa-tawa nya?

"Are you saying that I'm not professional Iana?" I was caught off guard when he mentioned my name. I gasped and bit my lips.

"No! That's not what I mean. Let's just talk about the opening of the shop since you said that you have a lot of knowledge about business" he took his phone out and showed me the dates. So he really knows how to run a business huh?

"About the employees..." Hindi pa ako tapos magsalita ay nagsalita na sya kaagad.

"Don't worry about the employees dahil napag-usapan na namin ang pay roll and complete tayo sa employees. From waiters/waitress hanggang barista" he assured me that everything is perfectly fine.

"And make sure that the waitress can accept tips from the costumers because deserve naman nila yon" he nodded.

"Diba waitress ka noon?" He asked curiously. Why is he suddenly curious about the past?

"Yes, why?" Kunot noo kong tanong sakanya. Hindi naman siguro sya magtatanong kung wala lang.

"if you were my waitress I wouldn't give you the tip. I would give you the whole thing"

It took me a minute to understand what he said. At nung nakuha ko na ay biglang nanlaki ang mata ko.
