It was a hard year for all the employees at Joey drew Studio. There was a huge drop in money going into it and things became tight. Joey have to cut funding of bendy world as well as cut everyone's pay checks in half. Many of his Employees were struggling badly to pay there pills and feed there families. Most of them were going into debt now for only paying one or two bills a time. A few we're starting to look for another job or a second one to help. Worst part about this though was the timing. The holidays was fast approaching. Parents couldn't buy presents for there kids let along food or Decorations. Sammy was one of these struggling employees. In more ways then that. His girlfriend of 3 years, Susie, had just broke his heart and left him and there children for a rich man. She didn't even say goodbye to Savannah and Steven. Sammy hated her but had to focused on taking care of bills and his kids alone now. He was struggling a lot more to pay rent now that her money was gone and his money was cut. He was about to lose his apartment and now Christmas is here. The twins were so excited about Christmas but he had nothing to get them or buy for the house. This made him feel like an awful parent. He was so tired of feeling like this.
At work, Norman came into Sammy's Office and noticed he was staring down at a letter in his hand and the look on his face. "Hey Sam. You alright?" He ask, walking closer.
Sammy glances up at him with tired worn out eyes then shakes head head no. "No." He sighs. "That slut left me. I'm to poor for Christmas and now....now I'm getting evicted this week." Sammy flips the letter around showing Norman.
Norman took the paper from him to read it for himself while Sammy laid his head down on his desk, wondering why was living so hard. Norman looked at the poor man after he finished reading the letter and felt bad for him. "Hey. Sam. You and the twins can move in with me." Norman offered, kneeling down next to him. "And I'm not taking no
For an answer. Those baby's need a warm
Place to stay and so do you."Sammy left his head up from his desk and glanced over at Norman. "Norman...I-I can't ask you to do that for me..."
"You didn't. I offered." Norman smiled at him. "Come on Sammy. I'm not letting you be homeless with your kids."
By the end of the week Sammy had gotten rid of most of his belongings so he could fit his and his twins things into two room in Norman's apartment. Norman helped him carry the two cribs in the baby's room as well as the changing station and everything they needed. Sammy only kept a few books and clothes for himself to fit in the room Norman gave him. It was small but cozy.
On Christmas Joey gave them a day off of work to spend time with there families and relax the best he could. Norman awoke early to in the morning and placed the few gifts he got for them next to a small tree he had gotten cheaply. After he had feed the twins when they awoken and started crying. He didn't wake Sammy up early. He knew how badly Sammy needed sleep. Good deep sleep. Not the sleep we're you wake by the wind blowing.
It was almost none before Sammy arisen from his slumber. He felt better then he had in months but wondered why the twins didn't wake him. He clawed out of bed, heading for the twins room but stopped when he herd them laughing in the living room. He goes there and stopped at the entrance way to watch.
Norman had Savannah in his hands and made silly faces to her, causing her to crack up. While Steven was on the floor next to him, playing with his old stuffy. Sammy leans on the wall, crosses his arms around his chest, watching Norman and his Daughter. Sammy didn't think he would be good with children but he was wrong about that. Sammy could see it on his daughter's face, Savannah loved him already.
After a minute Norman looked back at Sammy and smiled at him. "Good morning Sammy. Merry Christmas."
Sammy walked over to him and sat beside Norman. "Morning Norman. Merry Christmas." He looked at Savannah and Steven. "And thank you. For helping me with everything. The kids. The place to stay." He looked at Norman. "It means a lot."
Norman looked down at him. "It's Christmas. It would be cruel to let you be homeless with them." He replied. "Oh!Speaking of" Norman placed Savannah down beside her brother, getting up
And grabbing three presents."Oh Norman. You didn't..."
Sammy replied as Norman sat back down beside him.Norman looked over at him with a smirk. "Oh I did." He handed the first gift to Sammy. "This is for Savannah." He spoke. "Open it"
Sammy looked down at the gift then began to tear the wrapping paper off until it was completely gone revealing a baby doll for her. Sammy picks it up with a smile. "Aww. Norman. This is really sweet of you. Thank you so much."
Norman smiled. "Don't mention it, bud."
Sammy opened the doll them gave it to his daughter. She immediately started playing with it. They watch for a minute before Norman handed Sammy the second gift. "This is for Steven."
Sammy looked at Norman like he was crazy for spending money on them then he open
Stevens gift. It was a new bear plushy for him to have. Sammy thanked Norman as he switched the plushes out for Steven. "Look
At that. He already loves it." Sammy replied then frowns at the thought of him failing as a father.Norman watched the twins then turned to Sammy. "Hey now. It's Christmas. Why the long face?" He ask kindly.
Sammy looked down at the ground. "I just....feel like I failed as a parent.. I try to do what I can for them but....I can't even give them a home to live in." Tears begin to fall down his cheeks. " it's like..whatever I do it's not good enough...and it sucks!"
"Hey.." Norman gently place his hand under Sammy's chin and turned his head towards him. "You didn't fail, alright? Susie. She failed because she abandon you. Abandon them." Norman glances at over at the twins then back at Sammy. "You didn't fail because your still taking care of them. You could've given them away or given up on them but you didn't. Your tried and your still
Trying." Norman encouraged the man. "And it's ok to be in this position. It's ok to ask for help sam. That doesn't mean you fail. It happens to the best of us, alright?"Sammy nodded. "Thank you Norman. I needed to hear that." Sammy smiled a little bit.
"And it's all true, bud." Norman smiles back at him, giving him a hug from the side. "Here. Here's your present now." Norman handed him the last present."
Sammy looked at it then at Norman this time with guilt. "I didn't ...get you anything..."
"That's alright, bud." Norman replied to his friend. "Please don't feel bad. This is for you to enjoy." Norman ask.
Sammy nodded but still felt guilty, he ripped though the wrapping paper of his gift and opened the box then pulling out a soft blue blanket. A smile came across Sammy's face as he brought it to his face to rub against the fabric. "It's so soft. I ..love it." Sammy stopped to face Norman. "I love it so much. Thank you Norman. This Christmas was so much better then I thought. And it's because of you. Thank you."
"Oh it's not a problem Sammy." Norman wrapped his arms around him in a hug. "But I'm glad you having a great Christmas. Merry Christmas sam"
"Merry Christmas Norman." Sammy replied back.
