A while later...
Yukine wondered into the living room where Atomu was writing down a new recipe idea for Echo.
"Hm? Oh, hey, Yukine! What's up? Wanna help me make a cake for Echo??" Atomu asked him cheerfully.
"Err... I'm not really too good at baking," he walked over, looking down at his recipe, which was filled with concepts rather then ingredient.
"But a good start might be to use things that are actually... food?" he advised.
"Oh, yeah, haha! I kinda just lead with the heart and hope the rest works out!" Atomu laughed as he sat next to him.
"So what do you need to know about? Magic? Super strength? Ninjas? Math??" Atomu listed his specialties.
"Er... actually, it's something a little embarrassing..." Yukine mumbled, expecting a similar reaction to the others.
"Oh?" Atomu blinked cluelessly.
Just then, Atomu got a lightbulb idea of what Yukine wanted to talk about! His posture fell awkward.
"Errr........ look, I have two dads, so I never really got the birds and Beatles talk, but if you really need to know, there are a few manga's hidden in the library that-" he went to say.
"Ahhh!! N-no, I understand that just fine..." Yukine's face burned up, mimicking the reaction of Yurio and Echo.
"Uh? Oh good! Hey, maybe you can teach me then!" Atomu laughed.
"Uh... how old are you again?" Yukine questioned.
"Fourteen," he smiled innocently.
"Hmm, even for a human, I'm pretty sure that's too young to know about that stuff... perhaps stick to manga for now," Yukine considered, trying to remember how human age compared to demons.
"Oh, ok! So what did you want to talk about then?" Atomu asked.
"Um.... Well.... I noticed you seem quite attached to Echo..." Yukine led with.
But in an instant, a blazing fire of jealously raged around Atomu!!!
"You're not about to confess to liking her, are you?!!!" he yelled in panic.
"Uh, oh, no. Erm, that is... that would be kind of hard since... I'm having trouble figuring out... what love is...." Yukine admitted.
"Huh?" Atomu blinked.
"Errr... well, do you love Echo?" Yukine asked.
"Uh, yeah of course I do!" His face lit up, a pleasant contrast in reaction from the others.
Yukine's face lit up in relief. Finally someone who could admit to feeling love. Maybe he could help after all.
"Ah. So... how do you know it's love? What... erm... does it feel like exactly?" he pried curiously.
"Well, I just admire her so much, ya know? She's so strong and cool. She looks badass when she fights. Her sword is so long and sharp! I love it when she's being protective, even when she's angry, it's so intense like a burning rage of love! And when we fight together, we're like an unstoppable flame of passion!" Atomu rambled on passionately.
"Err... hmm. So you admire her..." Yukine thought back to his own words.
"I admire that strength, that kindness..." he had told Echo.
Yukine's cheeks burned up slightly.
Does that mean... that I....
"Uh... but.... Isn't that the same as having a mentor?" Yukine realised.
