Within the next few weeks...
Luna went to Oakville to check if there had been any more attacks. Nothing had occurred... it seemed Yachel really was the only cause for the concern. Chiyo was buried in the local church... beside her partners grave.
"... Rest in peace, Chiyo..." Luna's gentle voice whispered as she bent down to her grave, blooming flowers all around it.
Yurio, Yukine, Echo, Aki, and the twins stood behind her (Leo, Atomu, and Hiro are too baby bois for this @~@ ). And Galaxy didn't really care... :(
"... I promise...! No matter what, I won't let anyone else die...!!" She sniffed, hands trembling.
A few days after they visited Chiyo's grave, Echo created gloves for Luna to use Akira's magic without collapsing...
"Whoa!!! These are so cool!! Aghh, oh my goodness!! Thank you, Echo!!" Luna squealed at the new gloves made from the material she brought with Yurio.
The gloves were long and thin, covering her fingers (unlike the design you see in pictures later shown in the chapter). They were light blue with some water and plant patterns, along with some cute designs of hearts because... Luna.
"Don't worry about it. Just keep in mind not to use Akira's magic for big attacks. You're more likely to be affected by it otherwise. And remember, that magic won't last forever. It might be a good idea to only use it in desperate measures. I mean, you do still have your own magic to fight with, remember? So don't rely on his too much," Echo lectured, voice tracing with worry as she held Luna's hands, examining if the gloves fit ok.
"I know. But I want to at least use it without becoming weak. Otherwise, I'll only be leaving myself vulnerable," Luna returned.
"Which is why you got us. We'll always protect you. You know that, right?" Echo asked, wanting some reassurance.
Luna smiled, recalling Yukine reminding her of that fact on the night she cried to him.
"Of course, I do!" Luna returned with a proud smile.
"But I'm gonna get stronger! So I can make the underworld a safe place for everyone to live!!" Luna declared
"Uh... You still... want to change things?" Echo asked in surprise.
"Well, yeah... I always said I would," Luna returned.
Echo sighed.
"And here I thought you'd give up after finding out it was Akira who held that responsibility..." Echo mumbled gently.
"Well, Akira's not taking on that responsibility! So I gotta help him!" Luna pointed out.
"And how do you plan to do that? Now you know how strong the demons really are..." Echo asked with concern.
"Well, I'll just make them see that I'm different!" Luna declared, unphased by Echo's doubt.
"Different is what nearly got you killed, Luna," Echo reminded her with apprehension.
"Which is why I need to show them that different isn't bad!" Luna continued, her fist in the air in determination.
