God, aren't rottweilers vicious? ⬆️
Meanwhile, deep inside the royal palace, hidden away from sight, the air was thick with the musty scent of ancient stone and the faint tang of something metallic, perhaps blood long since dried.
Akira stood in the dimly lit room, a faint flicker of candlelight casting eerie shadows on the cold, damp walls. He gazed at a strange machine—a giant mirror framed by a web of levers and switches, all connected by a network of glowing runes. The mirror's surface rippled like a pond disturbed by a pebble then cleared to reveal a moving image: the present events of Shadow Moon.
A groan echoed through the chamber, drawing Akira's attention to the figure lying on the ground under a threadbare blanket. The figure stirred, eyes fluttering open just slightly.
"Umm..." he groaned, his voice barely a whisper, like leaves rustling in the wind.
"Uh..." he grumbled, struggling to move his weak body.
"Good to see you've awoken. I was almost beginning to worry... almost," Akira mentioned coldly as Yukine, the figure on the ground, came to notice him through blurry vision.

"Akira...? What...? Wait. Where am I?!!" Yukine's voice cracked, filled with confusion and dawning horror.
"A dungeon," Akira stated flatly, his eyes unbreaking from the machine.
"Wha-" Yukine's words trailed off as the reality of his situation sunk in, a heavy weight settling on his chest.
"Well, it used to be, anyway. Now, it's more of a hiding place..." Akira continued, a hint of nostalgia in his voice as he glanced around the room.
"You...! You did this...!" Yukine tried to rise, his voice a growl of anger, but his body betrayed him, collapsing back onto the cold, hard floor.
"Relax; you're weak. There's no point getting angry with so little you can do about it," Akira's voice was devoid of sympathy.
"Why...?! Why did you do this??!" he growled, desperation bleeding into every word.
"It was either your life being trapped once again or the entire underworld down up in flames," Akira sternly replied, his gaze finally meeting Yukine's.
"If it were Luna, you'd let the world burn!" Yukine spat, anger giving him a momentary burst of strength.
"I don't see how that's relevant..." Akira murmured, awardly looking to the side.
"It's relevant because Luna was the only thing keeping me going!!!" Yukine yelled, his eyes blazing with fury.
"... Well, it's not like you've lost her completely. As long as she's alive, you still have something to fight for, don't you?" Akira pointed out, his tone almost dismissive.
