Within a few months of playing, training, and getting to know this family, things started to feel like a home again. Yurika stopped sneaking out in the middle of the night, and Leo even started talking more. Yurio slowly started opening up, too, despite seeming so shy and nervous before.
As the day's passed by, things just started to mend... we had a family again. We'd train every day, practising our magic and growing stronger! Together, we'll definitely be able to change the world someday!
Six months after we'd met the Adachi family...
Echo walked up the hill, carefully using her sun magic to melt a path in front of her.
"Oh, Echo! How did it go??" Yurika greeted her, standing outside the house, working on an ice sculpture.
Yurio was training next to her, practising attacks and fighting moves.
"Totally nailed it! I'm hired! They said they've never seen craftsman skills quite like it~" Echo announced her new job approval.
"Oh, that's wonderful! This village needed a master craftsman!" Yurika smirked, making her blush slightly from the compliment.
"How are you so skilled in metalwork anyway? Never heard of an 18-year-old being a master in weaponry," Yurio mentioned, breaths showing in the cold.
You could see ice had crept up his arms and on the side of his cheek from using his power so much.
"I told you, my old village specialised in it. I learned everything I know from my family... but without tools and materials, I haven't been able to improve for the last few years. I've just been focusing more on fabrics... But with this new job, I'll finally be able to get some metal practice in!" Echo grinned.
"Exactly!" Yurika smiled in agreement.
"So, you can make clothes, weapons, and sunlight? Wonderful..." Yurio rolled his eyes.
"Don't forget my fighting skills, will you?" Echo smirked, jumping over to him, sword swiping up against the ice Yurio instantly defended with.
"Well, I wouldn't know. You've yet to accept my challenge," Yurio grinned in return.
"And I won't be until I've got my sun magic completely under control," Echo repeated.
"I can take it," Yurio claimed.
"That kind of confidence is dangerous, mortal," Echo teased.
"Oh, excuse me, goddess," Yurio fought back, not yet realising Echo wasn't actually human.
"Now now, play nicely, will you?" Yurika reminded them.
"Hm. So, what are you working on? Another job request?" Echo stored her sword with a spell and then approached the ice sculpture Yurika was creating.
