Luna's eyes fluttered open, her vision blurry at first. Her heart pounded as she took in the chaos around her. The smoke cleared, revealing...

"Yukine...?" Luna gasped in shock, seeing Yukine kneeling before her, his eyes filled with concern.

With only a fraction of a second to spare, Yukine had launched himself in front of Luna and Yurio, casting a shield spell to protect them from the impending explosion. The force of the blast shook the room, but they remained unscathed.

"... huh?! DO YOU MIND?!! I'M TRYNA DO SOME WEAKLINGS A SOLID HERE!!!" the demon raged as Yukine got to his feet and fixed his expression to be more serious.

"Yes, I do mind. Because people like you remind me why I wanted to jump!" Yukine growled, his voice laced with a newfound determination.

Luna gasped, a wave of guilt sinking in.

"What are you babbling about? Look, just move along and go about your pathetic life! You'll never survive playing hero like this. Everyone in the underworld knows that," the demon smirked, amusement present in her tone.

"... I know," Yukine stated with little life to his tone.

Without hesitation, he suddenly unleashed a devastating attack!

"ULTIMATE IMPACT!!" He yelled, punching the attack at the demon.

"Ah--" The force crushed her into the wall within seconds!

The force of Yukine's strike crushed the demon into the wall within seconds. Dust filled the room, obscuring the aftermath of their clash. As the dust settled, the demon lay unconscious, blood trickling from a wound on her head. Yukine gazed at the mess with a conflicted expression of hatred and pity.

"Uh...! Is she...?! Y-Yukine, you just- ...!!" Luna's voice trembled with fear, her eyes fixed on the aftermath of the battle.

"... That was a lot stronger than it normally is... how strange..." Yukine mumbled to himself, his attention shifting to his trembling hands.

As Luna took in the sight before her, a mix of admiration and concern filled her heart. Her smile wavered, her unease growing as she witnessed the unfamiliar strength displayed by Yukine.

"Don't stare too much, please. This is... the first time I've done something like this..." Yukine said, his voice tinged with shame as he turned away from the fallen demon and approached Luna.

Confusion and flustered emotions swept through Luna as Yukine came closer.

"Huh?" she let out as Yukine stood by her.

Her heart raced, and she could feel a tingling sensation spreading through her body. She still didn't know Yukine that well, and now he was here with her... all alone (aside from the dying demon in the corner).

"... I've never made someone bleed like that... I'll be honest with you, I'm slightly traumatised by blood. I've seen too much of it in my lifetime..." Yukine told her, covering his mouth, looking slightly notorious as he recalled vicious kicks and punches that left trails of red...

Luna's gaze softened as she listened, her heart aching for the pain he had endured.

"But... you still..." Luna tried to find the right words to express her gratitude for his unwavering protection.

"... I felt an urge to protect you... she deserved what she got," Yukine told her.

As their eyes locked, Luna saw a flicker of something deeper within Yukine's gaze. It was a look she hadn't seen before that spoke of strength and determination.
