"Magic isn't the reason for the underworld's violence. It's soul demons," Kyou interjected.

"Uh... wait, what?" Luna let out in confusion.
"You haven't heard of them?" Haru asked.
"Soul demons are one of the rare genetically mutated breeds. Their soul is only loosely connected to their body. This means they can move into other bodies and manipulate their souls and emotions, turning them into vessels of violence and chaos. After the war, more and more demons started to behave violently, even amongst the so-called peace agreement set in place, hah hah. And the reason is suspected to be soul demons," Kyou explained, oddly with a smile.
"Uh... wait, so... it's not because of the poverty?" Luna asked.
"Well, that part doesn't help," Haru added.
"Uh... Echo, did you know about this?" Luna asked.
"You got me. All we ever knew about the demons in the underworld is that they were powerful and dangerous..." Echo commented with a shrug.
"So that means the demons in the underworld aren't really mean? They've just been manipulated???" Luna's eyes sparked with hope.
"I wouldn't go that far. Soul demons could have influenced some of the violence, but trust me, the underworld doesn't need them to remain a dysfunctional society," Aki commented.
"Aki, did you know about soul demons??" Luna asked.
"Well, yeah, I'm from that world, ain't I?" he returned.
"If soul demons have the power to drive others to act violently... they must have made the demons worse! I wonder why Akira never mentioned them... and why would those demons do something so cruel?! What possible gain would it give them? I don't understand how anyone could be so heartless..." Luna frowned.
"I don't understand how someone could take your soul!!! That should be illegal!!" Atomu contributed his IQ.
"What if you're ginger?" Aki asked, leaning on Atomu's head.
"Gah!! Shhh!!!" Atomu hissed.
"What's that got to do with anything?" Luna asked in confusion.
Echo slapped Aki around the back of the head in reply.
"Ow!! Uncalled for!!" Aki overreacted.
"Ignore him, Luna. He's an idiot," Echo mentioned.
"Ok......" Luna mumbled, unsure of how to respond.
"What's this mutation thing about anyway? How did they even become like that? Was there some kind of science experiment gone wrong?" Yurio mentioned.
"It all happened about 300 years ago when the vampires attacked the demons with a chemical that caused soul mutations. So, things like animal demons and soul demons started appearing. It's rare to come across them nowadays, though," Haru explained.
"Errrrr........" Luna froze in shock at the casual confirmation of VAMPIRES?!!
"That's why me and Haru have two eye and hair colours," Kyou added.
"Wait! You're mutated?!!!" Atomu yelled with concern.
"A product of," Haru corrected.
"I thought you were just wearing contacts like Atomu--" Aki went to say.
"Aghh!! Shh!!!!" Atomu hissed, covering Aki's mouth.
"So it's not hair dye like Aki's?" Galaxy mentioned.
