"That's enough! Quit the child's play already!" Yukine grunted, his voice strained with frustration.
"Oh, look who's talking. How are you feeling, Yukine?" Charlie taunted, striding over with a mocking smirk.
"Get away from me!" Yukine spat, jolting his chains in an attempt to escape.
"So rude..." Charlie sighed, pausing mid-step, his eyes gleaming with twisted amusement.
"If you don't let us out of this place soon, I'll set it on fire!" Atomu suddenly threatened, his voice sharp with desperation.
"Pf- ah hah hah! What?" Charlie chuckled, greatly amused by his threat.
"You heard! If everyone's releasing magic from the gas, my gloves will absorb it! Once I release even the slightest flame, the gas will cause an explosion, killing every last one of us!" Atomu explained, seeming concerningly serious.
Echo mentally face-palmed herself.
"Pff. Idiot. It's not a flammable gas," Charlie sneered, his voice dripping with condescension.
"O-oh..... welllll then I'll--" Atomu stammered, only to be cut off by Charlie, who suddenly lunged forward, his eyes wide and crazed.
"You know, I've always wondered how powerful a human could ever really be without magic... How weak are they really without their little stolen defences? Will you bend and break? Tear or snap? Oh, so many ways I could break you," Charlie purred, his fingertips tracing Atomu's face with sadistic glee.
"Tst. How sick are you?!" Yurio growled in repulsion.
"Forgive me. I'm new to meeting humans in real life!!! Hehehehe, how exciting!!" Charlie giggled, a deranged light in his eyes.
"Hmhm, anyway, I didn't go through all this trouble for nothing. Let's keep the ball rolling, ay? I really hate to see you all so weak and drained... I do so desire some entertainment from this. So how about some motivation? If I push this button, then it will activate a timed bomb. We'll be blown to smithereens, just like dear Atomu just threatened!! Hahahaha!!" He cackled, directing their attention to a red button.
"Y-you're gonna blow us up?!!" Aki yelled, his face pale with shock.
"Unless... you guys can get out of here in time?" Charlie grinned deviously, a twisted delight in his eyes.
".... You're bluffing! You'll kill us all, including yourself!" Echo retorted, forcing herself to sit up despite the pain.
"Hm. So you're assuming you can't defeat me? Oh, come onnnn! It's eleven against one! You're not even gonna try???" Charlie urged, his grin widening.
"Hah, well, then again, I guess most of you are pretty useless when it comes to fighting. I'll make that six against one!" he added, his smile feral.
"While we're this weak, those numbers don't mean much!" Echo grunted, clenching her fists.
