At the table we sat at, Shloopsmorp, Bob, Jen and myself had all taken a seat.

Shloopsmorp had lead most of the conversation, speaking up when poor Jen couldnt think of anything to say. It really was nice to see how close the two were.

And it was nice to see Jen slowly coming out of her shell.

"So that's when I got flung against the massive and entered. Then I met spunk, who helped direct me to the tallest." I explained, using wild hand gestures as I told my story.

The irkens seemed both invested in the story, as well as bewildered.

"Wh-o's Sp-u-nk?" Questioned Jen, holding up a timid finger as she did.

"Uhm...hes an irken about this tall," I said holding a hand slightly below the table from the floor, "with silver-blue eyes and a purple pilot uniform".

The group remained confused, earning a sigh from me. I leaned back in my seat, slumping as I did.

It was bizarre though. Shloopsmorp and Jen are the only ones who take orders at the desk. So they must have seen spunk at some point!

"You really dont know him?" I confirmed, glancing between the two coworkers.

The two shook their heads, seemingly realising that they had to have seen him at some point.

"T-he on-ly irk-en I can th-ink of with th-at de-script-ion is sc-ant..." spoke Jen, striking me with awareness for my mistake!

"That's him!" I exclaimed, pointing at Jen and startling her.

"Huh?" She vocalised, backing against her seat in suprise.

"Scant changed his name recently to Spunk!" I exclaimed, slapping my palm on my head and laughing at the misinformation.

"He got permission, right?" Questioned Bob, appearing to shake slightly, barely able to get his head above the table.

"Permission? From who?"

"The tallest. If he doesnt have their permission and uses another name to refer to himself, he could get into some serious trouble." Shloopsmorp answered, scratching the back of his neck as he did so.

"He d-id refer to him-self as sc-ant yes-ter-day wh-en I was ta-king his or-der. May-be he on-ly uses that na-me with you" mused Jen, resting a hand on her chin as she spoke.

I dragged my hand down my face. Why didnt he tell me? If I had referred to him as Spunk in front of the tallest then it could have caused a huge issue! I should talk to him about it next time I see him.

But that wasnt an issue right now. There was a new topic standing by the booth. Two tall new topics.

Standing beside our table was the two leaders we were just talking about, Red and Purple. Their presence became an alarming sight for irkens throughout the cafeteria.

Many had turned their attention to them in utmost respect, awaiting what they had to say. Perhaps they were eager to see how they treated a human? Or maybe what they thought of the new mixture of groups and ranks?

Whatever it was, it made the room feel cold and like I was singled out. There was an energy that muted everyone around us and only allowed the focus to remain on the tallest and myself.

"Human," started purple, "we require your presence!"

The atmosphere went colder, eyes all around us sent icy stares to pierce me. It was a burning sensation and froze me in place.

What do they need from me? Did I do something wrong? Did I make a mistake? Are they done with me?

My panic remained internal, determined not to let them see how truly terrified I was. Though I'd never admit it, their authority was scary. Ever since they, and by "they" I mean Red, made that threat it became difficult to insult them. It became physically difficult to ignore them.
