I woke up to hushed whispers from a familiar voice, a finger prodding my side annoyingly. I expressed such annoyance in the form of tired groans, which were very exaggerated.

"Spunk, leave me be!" I waved, burying my face into my pillow and covering myself with a duvet from toe to ear.

The irken had been encouraging me to get up for a while now, growing ever more dumbfounded at my ability to be unproductive. He narrowed one of his eyes in confusion, antennae unevenly pointing in different directions like a puppy's ears.

"No way, Y/n! You promised your come with me to the Trial today!" He expressed, finally ceasing his prodding and opting to sit on my back instead.

I yelped at the sudden weight before turning my head so I could see him out the corner of my eye.

"I promised you nothing!" I accused with a glare and lazily raising my finger before dropping it almost instantly.

The irken seemed less than amused at this denial, pulling out a small square device that played a voice I knew all too well.

"Spunk, dont worry. I will make sure to accompany you to whatever this judgementia trial thingy is! I promise!"

I wasnt sure how I looked right now, beside stupid. But I took a guess that I was expressing a look of sheer embarrassment and awkwardness. A mix of things were responsible, one being my horrible voice, another being the fact that Spunk recorded this, and the other being that now I had to get out of bed.

It was not a good day.

Once he knew he won the battle and made his very valid point, he kicked his legs and pushed me, causing me to roll off the bed and painfully land on my side.

"Ow, dammit!"

I stood up with a groan, before Spunk grabbed my hand and pulled me out the door in a less than elegant fashion. I tripped up a couple of times, as my friend guided me to the end of the ship.

I had never walked so long on this ship before, as it was always too far to make without getting bored. Even that cafeteria was a hassle to get to and that was about half the amount of time that this walk took.

However, I found myself happy to make an exception this time.

This trial was apparently on another planet, which was both a thrilling opportunity and a relief, due to the nice wave of fresh air that hit me once we stepped outside.

The oxygen was much fresher here, making me want to stand there and take it all in for a long while.

I also took in the large structure ahead of me. It appeared to be the supposed trial grounds, where many irkens had crowded together in a large circle around what looked like a pit. The ring surrounding it had set up chairs where irkens had began to sit, awaiting for the event to start.

At the front of the trial room, the control brains had been made present. Their large machine bodies were much less intimidating from a distance, but I still felt their overwhelming aura from all the way at the back of the room. Their eyes seemed to calmly flash red before fading slowly as if they were contemplating to themselves, or eachother.

Above us was a large space in the building that almost looked like a starry spire, gradually easing into a gradient of the galaxies colours as my eyes moved down to look in the direction of the Tallest, who stood on a balcony above the machines.

Each of them were dressed in different attire to usual, though still in their respective colours. They appeared to be more formal and symbolic of the trial room itself.
