I coughed harshly, slowly recovering from the plummet to a new and unfamiliar world. I could feel an aching on my side, noticeably throbbing from a particularly hard fall. The planet's surface was tough enough to impact the pod as well.

The glass was shattered and had allowed a cool air to enter without permission. Still, it had not affected my breathing too much. I only had to adjust my breathing slightly when inhaling, the air being a little thinner than I was used to. My leg was sore and I could see some of my scratches were quickly dried.

I sat up slowly and took in the setting to the best of my ability. My vision started off blurred, but adjusted upon finding the shattered glass and the unconscious tallest. Both Red and Purple were recovering, though I suspected they took a harder hit than myself.

Despite this, it was clear as day they were recovering much faster than I. Their bruises were already fading and any scratches they received were almost completely gone.

The scene made me wonder about irken anatomy. Just how long had it been since we received these injuries? And how fast is the recovery rate?

I took a deep breath, attempting to stand. I was unstable, my legs shaky and uncooperative with my brain. The honest truth was that I wasn't quite ready to make a move.

But I didn't have much choice either.

The control brains had experimented on me. I wasn't going to take any chances of being recaptured and tested on. But I couldn't wrap my head around any possible motivation.

Did they just want to study human biology? Or was there another possible answer I hadn't even considered?

Either way, I didn't want to be their lab rat and I wasn't going to make myself an easy target. I'm way too stubborn to die like that.

I'm suprised I didn't die sooner, actually. It's kinda ridiculous.

An exhausted groan gripped my attention quickly, ending my thoughts suddenly with little warning prior.

I looked over to find Red slowly picking himself up and gradually raising a hand to rest on his skull. One of his antennae flicked before settling in place and his gaze raised from the floor to meet my own.

"You okay?" I began, resting my forearm against the battered console beside me whilst the awakened irken pulled himself to the nearest wall and leaned into it.

"Yeah. I'm good" he replied after a moment spent recapturing his breath. "You doing okay?"

I wasn't expecting him to ask back. It took me off gaurd, hearing him sound so nice and sincere was bewildering. The tone was especially shocking because he was usually so harsh towards me.

"Yeah, I'm okay. What planet did we land on...?"

"Looks like Syncora."

I looked over at him a second time, waiting for further explanation and attempting to start moving again in hopes of regaining my stance.

"Syncora is a pretty peaceful planet. I just wouldn't go near the residents, if I were you." He stated, not even attempting to make a move as he watched me stumble to another area of the pod. "They're pretty annoying and self absorbed."

"Sounds a lot like a couple of Irkens I know." I smirked with half-lidded eyes and a smug tone of good old sarcasm.

"Oh yeah, Zim and Scoodge are the worst!" He replied immediately, completely unaware that my jab was at someone else.

I decided not to challenge his response. He could very easily hurt me in all sorts of ways and had seen me in a vulnerable state that I would rather not be shared with others less I piss him off. So I remained quiet and opted for a quick sigh instead.
