(Trigger warning- just in case: Anxiety attack and intrusive thoughts...kinda)

I was going crazy, I'm sure. Not only had purple confessed that the control brains were up to something, he also had to confuse me further with that last claim.

"This conversation has made me more indecisive"

What does that even mean?!

The tallest never were really straightforward or open about themselves, so it wasn't out of character for them to be cryptic in their responses. What was out of character was one of them coming to me, their biggest inconvenience, for advice.

Still, my main concern was on the control brains. Just what were they planning, why was purple anxious about whatever it involved?

WHAT did their plans involve?

I found myself wandering the massive aimlessly once more. Something I had developed into doing when deep in thought or contemplation. I needed more information about whatever was going on.

If I stay in the dark about everything going on under my nose, I could end up being part of something I know nothing about. On the other hand, if I do interviene, I could be facing the wrath of other high class Irkens.

I was stuck at a fork in the road, unsure if my meddling will bring any good or bad to the table. Still, purples concern had hinted at these plans not being particularly helpful to the armada in any way. It was implied to have an effect that only benefited the control brains themselves, which would explain the reluctance to tell the tallest.

My head started to hurt just thinking about it. Despite this, my thoughts managed to clear upon the sight of Jen. She appeared to be a little tired and I noticed a few small new details.

The most noticeable of these features was that the bandage from her broken antennae was no longer there, allowing for me to see how jagged the tip of her injury really was. I still had no idea what caused the break, but was aware that Jen was too embarrassed to talk about it.

"Jen, you alright?" I called to her once our eyes met.

We stopped just a couple of feet apart, as I was aware that Jen needed more time to warm up to me. She seemed appreciative of this, and began getting noticeably closer since the first time we met, were she would hide behind Shloopsmorp or back off to be at least three feet away.

But I had been keeping track, though she seemed unaware of me doing so. She seemed to recognise my eyes trailing to her exposed antennae and stumbled over her words for a moment before gaining the courage to form a structured sentence.

"O-oh I-im fine... My bandage just came loose." She explained, slowly gaining confidence as she spoke, though her words were still slow.

I smiled gently, nodding along in understanding.

"Would you like a hand with it?" I asked, already knowing the answer.

"Actually... I was just going to ask Shloopsmorp for help..." She muttered, obviously feeling guilty about refusing my help.

Still, I wasn't offended. She just needed time and patience.

"Alright. If you need anything though, I'll be around." I reassured, giving her plenty of space as I continued toward the hallway.

I was brought to a stop, however, once I felt a sudden pull on my wrist. The force was so quick and unexpected that it took a moment to regain my balance. Still, I turned around to face Jen, who was closer than she had ever been before. She seemed a little embarrassed but continued to speak.
