3rd person POV
The hunt was on.
After the control brains had corrupted the escape pod, sending the ship hurdling towards a planet the traitors and the experiment could not plan for, they had gathered the rest of the armada to make an announcement.
It was broadcast over the whole universe, to the entirety of irk, to the irken allies, to anyone who respected the control brains significantly.
They were broadcasting a message.
No. Not a message.
An opportunity.
The opportunity to gain respect and admiration throughout the galaxy. The opportunity for fabulous wealth and fortune. The opportunity to be a high ranking officer of irk, or the ambassador for your representative planet.
The tallest were labelled traitors, the human as a threat. Y/n would have no idea of the current issue that had been caused. The control brains were going to take them alive and nothing was prepared to stand against it. All three were wanted.
But only the human was wanted alive.
"We have to do something." Stated Bob, turning to face his friends after coming to the conclusion that the coast was clear.
The others nodded in agreement, turning to Spunk, who had been wracking his brain for an idea or some way to warn his best friend.
"Shloopsmorp do you have any communication with the escape pods through your catering branches? Maybe we could get a message through."
The slightly shorter irken had nodded in response, taking Jen's hand within his own as to comfort her in the only way he could think of. His eyes flickered between each of his friends, minus the one who had gone missing, wondering how everything went wring so suddenly.
One minute Y/n was right there, fighting a monster and standing up for the mistreated. Then one call to the control brains room and all hell breaks loose. He wouldn't be surprised if Y/n got angry and offended them in some way, though that couldn't be further from the truth.
Y/n was in fact the unsuspecting victim, and only the control brains were aware of the reason. Now it was too late for the other irkens to ask questions, as Y/n was already missing and their only supposed witnesses were with them and sentenced to death.
"We start there. Let's hope we can contact Y/n before someone else finds them. Or we'll be in hot smooshslim." Spunk expressed, standing tall and proud. He was ready to fight for the human that fought for him, no matter what it took.
The group's journey was fairly smooth sailing, at first. They had rounded corridors in a casual demeanour, drawing very little suspicions despite the public knowledge of their friendship with Y/n. But there wasn't anything to be suspicious of.
They didn't seem actively busy, strolling into the cafeteria as usual as if their association with the human was non-existent. Or they simply didn't care.
But the further they got into their communication plan, the further they got from warning their friend.
"I knew you'd be poking your antennae into this mess, Spunk!" Exclaimed thembrain, grabbing the leading irken from behind and holding him high above the ground.
The rest of the group had called for him, terrified of the possibilities Thembrain now held in their pipes. The potential harm that would come to Y/ns best chance of escape.
The machine laughed, shaking him roughly and making the poor irken loose focus and the ability to comprehend his surroundings.
"You can't hurt them!" He retaliated, attempting to push himself out of the control brains impenetrable grip. "Y/n is way to stubborn to die!"
The others watching in horror attempted to back up this statement, the only resource they had to protect spunk from being crushed.
"That's true!"
"They keep coming back alive and it suprises me every time!"
"Y/n is practically immortal at this point!"
The control brain cackles in amusement. There was no mockery, or arrogance, or force. It was a genuine laugh, which is why it was all the more terrifying to hear.
Then it began to echo, as the other control brains had been closing in ad they watched the exchange. And now they were all laughing, together.
"We aren't going to kill them." Stated Fembrain, as the laughter died down in perfect synchronisation. "We need them alive"
Spunk paled, listening to the horrific implications.
"Wait....are you-?" He went even paler, almost completely white in realisation.
If the control brains had faces, Spunk was sure he'd be able to see expressions of pure malice lining their faces and stretching their smiles to an impossible degree. He was horrified just looking at them.
But not as horrified when he watched Fletch step out of the dark, standing beneath the control brains with a vacant expression.
"What is..?..no.." Spunk watched Fletch for a couple of seconds, eyes widening in shock after the initial interval before they shot to look at the control brains once again. "What did you make!?!"
"Improvements" mainbrain simply replied, moving back along with the other brains and climbing back onto the ceiling in preparation to move again.
"Ugh, Miyuki never could keep her mouth shut, could she? Of course you know about this." Muttered thembrain faintly, pulling Spunk closer so only he could hear.
The irken said nothing, only slightly flinching at the harsh atmosphere surrounding him and the rest of his friends.
"Take them all." Mainbrain finally stated, prompting all three to grab the remaining of Y/ns friends.
Then, without another word and irken cries of distress,
They were carried off into the darkness of the massive.
