(What's this!? Another chapter!? In the same week!?!!!?! Well how about that!! I guess I'm on a roll!

Kinda fluffy with a healthy side of angst. So be ready for heartmelting interactions. One of the tallest is gonna get kinda clingy)

I followed the tall irken through corridors and hallways, waving to passing Irkens every so often when we came across one another. The conversation between purple and myself was hard to prompt, as he seemed a little insecure about whatever he wanted to discuss. Something in his mind was swelling, so much so that he couldn't even look my way or respond comprehensively to any of my own words.

Instead, he took my hand and pulled me along to....wherever we were going. As we progressed, his hand became stiffer and tighter, enclosed around my own like he needed the contact more than anything in that moment. Like he was terrified of letting go.

That's all my mind could think about during the journey. I could only make guesses about what had him so anxious, as him and I had never really been open with one another. Though we had been getting closer and conversing far more, we always kept eachother at arms length. But purple had never gone out of his way to initiate close contact with me....or anyone, really.

I hadn't even processed our arrival in an empty room, one of which was filled with old cafeteria booths and benches dotted in a disorganized mess. There were plenty of reasons to be concerned over the sight, as something had definetly died in this room. There was slime and dirt scattered all over the floor, along with remains of rotting corpses reminiscent of the food monsters I usually have to fight. That being said, there were also less relieving remains sighted among the wreckage. But I attempted to avert my eyes as best I could, taking note of Purples unphased expression.

Said irken had gently pushed me onto a chair, soon taking his own seat beside me and holding his arms with a certain unease.

"Thank you for...keeping your promise..." he muttered out, tightening the grip on himself whilst trailing his sheepish gaze onto the floor, away from me.

I only hummed, nodding gently as I feared that speaking would trigger some kind of aggressive or exaggerated reaction. I had never seen purple look frantic like this, so I had to be careful with my words and actions. At least, that's what I felt was necessary.

"Well, thanks for keeping yours as well..." I finally spoke realising that, after a moment of silence, He wasn't going to speak without prompt. "But surely you didn't bring me all the way over here to thank me for a promise. What's this really about?"

Purple glanced away again, rubbing his arms anxiously and turning away from my gaze.

The more the silence lingered, the more insecure I began to feel.

Purple didn't look too well, even sickly. It was faint, but he even began releasing shaky breaths. Despite this, he still forced out his words.

"I'm in a difficult place, right now..." He confessed, squeezing his eyes shut and holding his arms tighter. "I have a duty to serve the control brains and I know that it's my job to follow their orders without question! That's what my role is as tallest."

I nodded along, unsure of what he was going to say next. Though, whatever he was planning to say had definetly impacted him negatively. His eyes said it all.

Within a single glance he had given it all away. He was indecisive. Over what I couldn't decipher, but I was prepared for whatever he was going to tell me.

"But what?" I questioned, encouraging him to continue.

He did so, albiet with a reluctant sigh.

"But, now I'm questioning everything." He confesses, shoulders slumping in guilt. "The control brains are our leaders and the sole creators of our world but...what do I do if I...how do I respond to...my...uh...?"
