"Rise and shine" Hopper spoke, the man leaned all his body weight against the frame of the open doorway of El's room as his arms were crossed over his upper body. Eleven's body laid across her mattress, her eyes fluttered open.
The girl's gaze landing on the ceiling before shifting to Hopper. The two locked eyes for a moment before Eleven turned her body over, away from the older man before she softly glared over to her wrist where the maroon bracelet Lily had given her many moons ago was secure on her wrist.
"So that's it huh? You're still not talking?" Hopper asked the girl as he rose an eyebrow who simply ignored him.
"All right. I guess I'm just going to have to, uh... enjoy this triple-decker Eggos extravaganza on my own" Hopper teased the eggo loving girl before walking away towards the kitchen.
Eleven's eyes darted in the direction of the man's fading footsteps, her body not moving before she stared at the wall in front of her.
Hopper cut into four layers of eggos, whip cream, Hershey's kisses, jelly beans, and Reese's pieces that were scattered around the glass plates, in between and on top of the stack of eggos.
Small grunts of excitement slipped out of his mouth as he cut through the thick layers of the breakfast before sliding the metal butter knife in his mouth, wiping off the wiped cream.
"Mmm!" Hopper hummed as he pulled out the knife from his mouth that was licked clean. Eleven brought a large piece of eggo that poked through the metal fork before she took a small bite out of the waffle.
"Mmm. It's good, right? Know the great thing about it? It's only 8,000 calories" Hopper lightly joked in an attempt to clear the tension in the room that was clearly there. The man looked up from his plate and to El who glared at him intensely.
Hopper internally sighed as his gaze moved back down to his plate. Hopper sniffled as he continued to stare at the glass plate before out of the corner of his eye a long black cord caught his attention.
The wire led all the way to El's room from where the television was plugged into the wall in the living room.
"You visited her again last night?" Hopper's eyes averted from his plate and gazed back up to Eleven, breaking the silence as he took notice that the girl was fiddling with a loose thread from the maroon bracelet.
"She says she needs me" El retorted with a soft raspy voice, her eyes filled with sadness as her eyes shifted to the wooden table.
Hopper gazed at the curly brunette as a guilty expression took over his face, he knew the two girls deeply missed each other but he didn't want the people at the lab to find out about the curly-haired telekinesis girl.
"You want me to check on her?" Hopper spoke with sincerity in his voice, the sad brunette shook her head in response as she didn't make eye contact with the chief.
"I know you miss her alright? But, it's too dangerous" Hopper spoke with honesty, El's head continued to hang low before she lifting up her chin to look at Hopper.
"You're the last thing she needs right now" Hopper spoke softly, these words caused El's heart to shatter into a million pieces.
"You're going to see her. Soon" Hopper's words were hollow as the father and daughter locked eyes for a second before Eleven broke it off and began to mess with something that rested on her lap, it was the light blue hoodie Lily had given her what seemed like decades ago.
"And not just in that head of yours. You're gonna see her in real life. I feel like I'm making progress with these people" Hopper spoke up as his head moved up and down when he spoke in confirmation, his forearms laid flat on the wooden table as his hands overlapped on another.
"Friends don't lie" El responded, she leaned in her body more into the table as her eyebrows frowned in anger. "What?" His eyebrows also frowned but in confusion as he too leaned his body forward, following the girl's actions.
"You say 'soon' on day 205. You now say 'soon' on day 356?" Eleven asked in anger as she eyed the man who sat in front of her, Hopper stared at the girl in disbelief.
"What is this? You're counting the days like you're some kind of prisoner?" Hopper mumbled as he messed around with the pocket of the chief uniform he had on, not wanting to make eye contact with Eleven.
"When is 'soon' " Eleven articulated the words she spoke as she sent a scowl to Hopper. " 'Soon' is when... it's not dangerous anymore" Hopper muttered as he continued to not make eye contact with the fuming girl which just made her angrier, Hopper was just adding more wood to the burning and roaring fire.
"When" Eleven demanded an answer out of the man, Jim glanced at Eleven before looking back down before he shrugged his shoulders up.
"I don't know" Hopper simply murmured. "On day 500?" Eleven spoke with attitude as she continued to glower at the man. "I don't know-" Hopper spoke with a hushed voice before El cut him off.
"On day 600?" Eleven's voice began to raise as she shook her head when she spoke. Eleven was getting tired of the man just simply not knowing when she could she Lily. Eleven wanted nothing more than to see Lily.
"I don't know-" Hopper began to repeat himself before once again before the curly-haired girl once again cut him short.
"Day 700? On day 800?" Eleven's voice and eyes began to fill with fury as she glared harshly at the man.
"No!"Hopper raised his voice as he clenched his jaw, preventing himself from going off on the brunette who just wanted to see the girl who she missed so greatly.
"I need to see her! Tell me!" Eleven lashed out as she repeatedly banged her fist on the wooden table, causing the silverware to rattle in place slightly.
"I said I-" Before Jim could finish his excuse, el flicked her head up causing the man's plate to fly on his lap, staining his clothes with candy and whipped cream.
"Oh! Shit! Shit!" Hopper shouted as he shot up from the chair and glared down at his clothes before to El, Eleven also stood up from her spot on the chair she sat on as she scowled at Hopper.
"Friends don't lie!" Eleven exclaimed slowly as she was still learning how to form a full proper sentence. El's face scrunched up with rage before the girl stormed to her room. El swung her arm, using her powers to slam the door behind her. Hopper kicked the dining table causing the items to clatter.
