The school bell rang causing all the students to shot up from their places on their seats and pack up their stuff.
"Remember, finish chapter twelve and answer twelve point three on the difference between an experiment and other forms of scientific investigation. This will be on the test, which will cover chapters 10 through 12. It will be multiple choice with an essay option" Mr. Clarke droned on before he cut himself off once he noticed no one was listening as all the students except the party exited the room.
The group surrounded Mr. Clarke's desk, waiting for the older man to acknowledge their presence. "So, did it come?" Mike questioned with anticipation laced in his voice as the three boys squirmed in their places. "Sorry, boys. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but..." Mr. Clarke spoke in a fake sad tone as he trailed off before a big smile quirked on his lips.
"It came" Mr. Clarke spoke with enthusiasm causing the three boy's frowns to turn upside down. Beverly and Lily shared a look before softly rolling their eyes at how excited the boys got.
Mike burst through the AV door, the three boys softly pushing each other to try the radio first as Mr. Clarke along with the two girls tailed behind. "Yes!" Mike quietly exclaimed to himself as he swiftly sat down in the chair inside the desk where the large radio was.
"The Heath kit ham shack" Mr. Clarke announced as he stood beside the desk where Dustin and Lucas crowded around Mike, Bev and Lily stood in front of the desk as they leaned their bodies forward to see what all the excitement was about.
Whoas and wows escaped past the boys' lips as Mr. Clarke brightly smiled at the three boys. "Ain't she a beaut?" Mr. Clarke asked as he crossed his arms over his chest. "I bet you can talk to New York on this thing" Dustin spoke with a wide smile.
"Think Bigger"
"California?"
"Bigger"
"Australia?" Mike inquired with an astonished expression as he looked at the man who nodded their heads. "Nerds" Beverly whispered causing the three boys and older man to shot the redhead a look. "Agreed. You guys are a bunch of nerds" Lily teased the boys who glared at her before resuming their nerdy ways.
"When Will sees this, he's totally gonna blow his shit" Lucas spoke with a bright expression on his face as his hands moved through the air when he spoke. "Lucas" Mr. Clarke scolded the Sinclair boy causing the boy to quickly apologize as Dustin chuckled.
Lucas began to move the many knobs on the radio causing a soft static noise to escape from the box as the radio tuned. "Hello, this is Mike Wheeler, president of the Hawkins Middle AV Club" Mike spoke in his best Australian accent causing the two girls to giggle just as Dustin snatched the headphones off of Mike and placed them on.
