"No, of course, you guys didn't and now- now we're heading in the same spot they were last seen- and we don't have any weapons or anything-" Dustin spoke with fear laced in his voice as he took breaths in between his sentence, the boy had a point for once.
Lily felt tiny water droplets that came down from the sky above run down her skin from her hand that Mike wasn't holding anymore.
"Dustin, shut up" Mike softly spoke as he began to sneak forward, the curly-haired boy opened up his mouth to say something but quickly closed it.
"Mike?" Lily asked as her eyebrows frowned at the boy whose back was facing her, Beverly's grip began to tighten as her fingernails began to dig into the brunette's sleeve.
Dustin and Lucas crept closer behind the two girls until they were standing right behind them, using the two girls as human shields in case of need. The four stared at Mike with looks of unsettlement as the Wheeler boy was just vacantly staring at the dark forest ahead of him.
"Dude what are you doi-" Beverly asked in a hushed tone before Mike shushed her harshly, cutting her off mid-sentence causing the redhead's face to scrunch up in slight anger and confusion.
The boy's face was like stone, not moving a single muscle for anything as his eyes trained ahead, water dripping down his face. Mike signaled the four to be quiet, the group did what they were told as no one made a single sound.
Suddenly, the group heard twigs that were snapping and leaves that were crunching from the dark forest ahead along with rustling causing the group to jump in their places as dread filled the group's eyes. Lily's body along with her face frozen with absolute terror of what was coming closer and closer to the party by the second.
"Do you guys hear that?" Mike asked in a hushed voice, Beverly's grip got more secure on Lily's arm, making the brunette's arm ache slightly from the pressure the redhead was putting on it. Lily didn't mind cause she knew the girl was scared, all of them were at this point.
The group quickly flashed their flashlights to the sound, the beam of light shined brightly at absolutely nothing but a few trees that water raced down from their leaves and to the ground that soaked up all the pouring rain.
More rustling came from behind the party causing everyone to let out a gasp as they swiftly turned around and shined their flashlights in the direction of the noise.
It was a small girl who looked around the group's age, she had a buzz-cut style haircut with an oversized yellow shirt on with dried red strains Lily couldn't really make out what it was.
The girl was violently shivering from the cold rain that hit her bare skin as she was drenched in nothing but it, her chest rose and fell rapidly as if she's been running away from something.
