As the three walked through the hallways, everyone stopped what they were doing to glare at the two boys. Two girls whispered to one another as they passed the principal and the three friends, Lily send the two girls a mean glare causing them to look away.

As they continued to walk through the halls Lily kept death glaring at the mean kids who would just stare at the boys, Will and Eddie shared a sad glance before their eyes began glued to the floor.

Lily pushed open the blue door revealing Joyce who was across the school, leaning against her green car, a cigarette in her hand while looking down.

Joyce heard the school door open causing her to gaze up and look in the direction of the doors, a bright smile spread across the woman's face as she waved her hand at the three kids.

Eddie gave the older woman a light smile as he and Will waved, they walked down the concrete stairs. The principal watched the three kids as they approached the woman before they all embraced her into a hug.

Joyce opened the passenger door for the children, Eddie and Lily jumped to the backseat before Will entered the vehicle.

The caramel hair boy was about to reach for the door to close it but before he could the principal shut the car door for him as a small smile pulled in the corners of the man's lips. Once the engine was started the woman drove away, leaving the principal to gaze at the vehicle that eventually disappeared in the distance.

Joyce drove down an empty road, Eddie and Will vacantly stared out the window, watching bare grey trees they passed by. Lily was also in her own little world as she twiddled with her fingers. Joyce fretfully glanced over to Will then to Eddie through the rear mirror.

"You boys feeling any better?" Joyce asked with a soft rasp, Lily snapped out of her thoughts and softly gazed at the mother figure.

"Will? Eddie?" Joyce queried, she peeked at the two boys as she waited for a response. Lily gently shook Eddie's leg, causing the boy to shake his head, snapping out of his trance. Eddie hummed in response as Will asked a 'huh?' before mumbling.

"Yeah. Yeah sorry," Will and Eddie both spoke at once as they turned to look to the older woman whose eyes would shift from the road to the boys.

"Hey. What would we talk about, huh? You both need to stop with all the sorry" Joyce softly explained as she softly shook her head, before glancing at the boys who stared blankly ahead.

"Sorry. I mean, yeah, we know" Eddie spoke as he slightly squirmed in his seat before turning to Lily who sent him a small smile. "Listen. There's nothing to be nervous about, you know" Joyce reassured the boys whose faces were filled with worry and slight fear.

"Just tell 'em what you two saw and felt last night" Joyce spoke as she continued to glance back and forth the two boys. "Hey, Lily and I are going to be there the whole time. It's going to be okay, okay?" Joyce asked the boys who softly nodded.
