You took out the futon and laid it out on the Japanese style floor, humming softly as Naruto helped you. "You look much better now." Naruto noted cheerfully, smiling widely. "Ooh, yeah, haha. I don't know what happened earlier. Maybe it was the lack of water." You chuckled, palms sweaty with how nervous you felt.
Every. single. sound. It made you jump and feel scared. You didn't want to leave. You felt so stupid for making such a stupid promise. Well, if it was for these people, then it would hopefully be worth it. You stood up and leaned on the window frame, staring at nothing until you saw Zetsu in the distance. You looked over your shoulder before deciding to leave the house at midnight when everybody was asleep.

You calmly walked around the small, Japanese style inn in your yukata. Well, the inn was pretty big in all honesty. It was very empty though. Takahiro was sitting at the entrance, wiping down his Kunai. He hummed softly, eyeing the blades. You stared at the boy, making an assumption that he was sent out to look out.
You sat beside him and looked up at the moon. "It's nice today, isn't it." You spoke up to break the silence. He smiled in response, thinking deeply. "Hey," he quietly called, fidgeting the kunai and reflecting the moonlight against it. "Let me come with you," he said, shocking you. "W-what?! No! No, no no. That's a horrible idea." You objected, turning your head. "You belong to your village-" "and you don't? If you don't belong to your village, then I don't belong to mine either. I knew the moment I saw you. You aren't from here." He calmly spoke, pulling you up without warning and tugging you outside.
"What do you mean?" You nervously asked, staring at him in utter shock. He couldn't..
"We don't belong in this world. This isn't our world. Our world is nothing like this." He firmly told you as he grasped your hand. "You're slipping. You're forgetting. You aren't allowed to melt into this reality completely, because this isn't our reality. Those aren't your friends. Those aren't your teachers." He told you, his face serious. Then it all hit you. You had nearly completely forgotten about the first day you were here.
"Holy shit" you whispered, looking up at him in shock at the realization he was right. He nodded, suddenly smiling and patting your head. "They're watching." He told you, and you looked over his shoulder to see Sasuke and Naruto staring at you two. You grinned, gently slapping his hands away. "Stop." You chuckled as he silently teased you with a look. This felt so weird.
It was like you knew him already.
"Oi! Stay away from her!" Naruto suddenly raised his voice before he angrily rushed over and grabbed your hand to pull you away. "Midnight." You mouthed, and he nodded. "Bye." He shyly said. "I told you he was up to no good!" Naruto exclaimed to Sasuke. "Shut up, dobe." Sasuke scoffed, eyeing Takahiro over his shoulder.
"What do you mean?" You said, acting oblivious. "Nothing, Y/n-chan!" Naruto hummed happily as he pulled you into the room. "So who's going to look out next? I'll do it if nobody else will." You asked, feeling calmer now. "Nobody volunteered next, so you can do it." Sasuke agreed, and silently stood up. "I'll tell everybody." He grumbled.
You looked at the clock. It was 11:30 and Takahiro silently sat next to you, enjoying the silence. "Do you think this will all be worth it?" You asked. "..well, I'm as clueless as you but it's good to have some hope." He responded, unsure of this too. "It seems pretty bad though. I mean, with Obito, Itachi, and Pein on the good side, we're nothing, to be blunt." He murmured.
"You're aware that Kakashi knows, right? He's spying on us right now." He told you casually, as if there wasn't anything wrong with spying on your own people. "What?" You spoke in disbelief, looking around. "Hey, hey! Don't look around!" Takahiro panicked.
"Be casual. So have you killed anybody here yet?" He asked, sounding interested now. You stared at him. "Be causal, he said, then proceeded to ask me if I killed anybody. No, I have never killed anybody," you rolled your eyes, and heard him whisper: "Yet.."
"Hey! Don't jinx it. I don't know how I can live with killing somebody." You punched him in the arm. "I'm going to go talk to Naruto for a little." You decided as you stood up and returned to your room after grabbing some water.
"Heyy," you smiled at Naruto and Sasuke. "What time are we leaving tomorrow?" You asked in curiosity. "I think Kakashi-sensei said we'd leave around 6:00. You should sleep soon, Y/n-chan." Naruto said. "Yeah, my hours will end in like thirty minutes, so I'll be back soon." You hummed as you stood up. "I'll bring back water later, if you need any." You added as you left the room, finishing your water and walking back to the entrance. You carried your small bag which contained food you had personally bought, along with an aid kit and clothes, water and a map.
"Let's go." You sighed. Takahiro nodded and took the first step and began to run, with you closely behind him. You felt excited for some reason. It felt like adrenaline ran through your veins. It was a feeling you hadn't felt in a long time. Kind of like when you would sneak out of your house late at night with somebody you weren't supposed to meet. The thrill that you could be caught, and the excitement. "Fuck-" you excitedly giggled, taking your first jump onto a tree branch. Takahiro glanced at you. There was so much you two didn't know about eachother, but he knew this would be interesting. You two knew each other more than you two thought. He felt the same thing you were feeling. Butterflies fluttered in his stomach when he saw your smile.
Man, Sasuke and Narute would miss out on this, he had thought.
