From being suffocated in an old fashioned ball gown to being told who my biological father is, I totally was not prepared for what was just the beginning of my awfully long and emotionally draining day.
Jenna managed to strap the corset as tight as possible without cracking my ribs and once I was ready I was whisked away to the High School where I was once again whisked away to the cafeteria where Stefan was waiting for Elena and I. It was surprising that I had a chance to breath with everything moving so quickly.
We made our way into the cafeteria where we were told what was quite possibly the worst news in the world - who would've thought we were the devil-spawn's offspring. Certainly not me.
"John?! Is that even possible?" Elena grimaced.
Don't be sick Lily. Do not be sick.
"There is no proof, but he dated Isobel when she was a teenager and he was the one who brought her to your Dad's office for the delivery." Stefan elaborated.
"Yeah, but that could just be one big coincidence." I reasoned. Surely John, of all people, was not our father.
"My whole life I've never liked this man. I..."
"Sorry, I'm sorry. I just... wanted to tell you before Damon dropped it on you on some typically inappropriate way." Stefan sighed.
"No, I'm happy you told us, I just... I really hope that it's not true. What am I supposed to do? Do I just... confront him and say 'are you my biological father'?"
"Or we never ask and we'll never find out. That way John will never be our father." I suggested.
"We can't just live in denial Lily, as much as I'd like to." Elena sighed and placed her hand on my shoulder.
"I guess you're going to have to ask him when you're ready." Stefan said, looking at us sympathetically - as he should have been.
"I'm never gonna be ready. Stefan, I have enough problems with my family that I actually care about. Jeremy hates me, and why wouldn't he? My journal gave him every single reason to."
"That's why you don't write your entire life story in book." I muttered.
Honestly, what was she expecting? She literally wrote everything that happened to Jeremy and expected him not to read it. Was she mental? That's what siblings do; we get nosy and look in each other's rooms.
He was angry at me too but not as much as Elena - she was the one who got Damon to compel him forget what happened to Vicki - I was to busy in the hospital to have anything to do with that.
"He's just hurt, he's confused."
"He's never going to forgive me for Vicki, for taking away his memories, for lying."
"He's your brother, he'll forgive you. Just give him time."
"He needs time to think, Elena. Give him some time and then apologize." I insisted and dragged Stefan away with me.
We had duties to attend to. Unfortunately.
._.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome our stunning Miss Mystic Falls Court and their handsome escorts." Mrs. Lockwood smiled into the microphone and waved the audience in the direction of our float.
"Smile and wave boys, smile and wave." I said to Caroline and Stefan who were standing either side of me.
Caroline and I actually had our proper escorts with us today. Matt had a day off and Stefan was no longer in 'ripper' mode.
