Thanks to Elijah, Stefan was allowed to leave the tomb last night so Elena spent the night at the Boarding House.
She was probably going to tell Stefan about Damon and I so I thought it was best to stay as far away as possible from the Boarding House; that was until Damon called and told me what had happened.
Rose had been bitten by a werewolf last night.
"How is she?" I asked Damon as I entered the living room. When he didn't reply I knew something was bad. "Is she going to live?"
"Probably." He said with no emotion before taking a sip of bourbon. "The wolf bite caused some kind of infection and it's getting worse."
Poor Rose.
"I'm sorry." I said sympathetically as I put my hand on his arm.
He and Rose had bonded quite well and I could see it was hurting him no matter how hard he tried to hide it.
"Death happens. We come, we go. Sooner she dies the better. It's gloomy as hell in here." He stated before walking away.
._.
After Damon left to search for a cure I was left on nurse duty with a dying vampire. Rose looked like hell so I helped her to Damon's room and into his bed. I never thought I'd be putting another female into my boyfriend's bed but here we are.
"I hate this, I'm a vampire, I haven't had a cold in five centuries." Rose complained as I put the covers over her. "We don't get sick. When we die, it's fast and sudden and it's certainly not drawn out in illness."
"You're not gonna die." I shook my head at her.
"Such a human thing to say." She tutted. After some silence she spoke up again. "He really loves you, you know."
I couldn't stop the smile from forming on my lips and the slight blush that coloured my cheeks so to play it off I laughed. "I should hope so, he is my boyfriend."
"I'm not joking, Lily. You can see it in the way he looks at you. The way he brightens up when you're in the room." She smiled softly. "I've spent the last two days with him and he doesn't shut up about you. You're lucky."
"I'm sure you've had a great love in the long amount of time you've been alive."
"Nope." She sighed sadly. "Trevor was my best friend. Nothing more. I spent all those years on the run from Elijah. I just never thought it was a good idea to set up roots. The whole idea of family is not exactly compatible with being a vampire."
"Well, once you've overcome this little bump in the road you can go travel the world and find your Prince Charming." I could see she was about to ruin my idea so I spoke up. "And no you're not going to die and I will personally ask Bonnie to make you a daylight ring."
She smiled at me once again. "I hope so." She then shut her eyes. "I'm so tired."
As I approached the exit Rose began to speak but I don't think it was to me.
"No, stop, wait. Tell them to prepare the horses." Rose said to thin air.
I walked back over to her and gently pushed her back down. "It's okay, Rose. Just get some sleep. You'll feel better when you wake up."
"Trevor, don't be stupid." She continued. "You're never going to make it before the sun." She suddenly sat up - no longer in her trance. "Lily, Lily, I need more blood."
I quickly grabbed the glass of blood from the bedside table and handed it to her.
"It's okay, Rose. Everything is going to be alright." I assured her.
