It had been five days. Five days of not seeing or speaking or even texting Damon. I usually wasn't able to keep a grudge but I'd manage to hold one for 120 hours - my new personal best. I wasn't even sure why I was so annoyed at him because what he did wasn't that bad but I suppose my annoyance grew when he didn't make an attempt to contact me either.

It had been five days. Five days of not seeing or speaking or even texting me. Why was he being so distant with me? He was the one in the wrong, not me.

I groaned out in frustration as I kicked the ball into the net. Why did boys have to be so confusing and infuriating?

As Meredith Grey would say, 'it's them and their stupid boy penises'.

I let out a long breath and wiped the sweat from my brow before going to collect the several soccer balls in the goal. I had to get my mind off him and this was my go to activity to do that. Some people would go for a run (ew gross), some people would mediate but I angrily kicked soccer balls into an empty net on an empty field.

After a few more rounds I decided to chill for a moment and check my phone, however, I wish I didn't after reading the message my sister had sent me.

'Katherine out the tomb. Elijah's death broke the compulsion'

Great.

As I took off my cleats I began to think maybe that was the reason as to why Damon had been ignoring me. He'd been too preoccupied with Katherine and was keeping yet another secret from me.

My mind started to wander off to the jealous and weary girlfriend side which I had to escaped before I could convince myself he was cheating on me with her; seeing as he was strung up on her for nearly a century and a half it did make me a bit on edge. But I trusted Damon so I brushed my nervous and irrational thoughts aside and  walked with all my equipment back to my car.

When I got home and finished having a long, relaxing shower I slumped down the stairs and saw Elena, Bonnie and Caroline in the kitchen.

"Oh, hey guys." I greeted them with a surprised tone as I joined them at the kitchen island.

It must be a girls night.

"Chinese food or pizza?" Caroline chirped.

"Is that even a question?"

"I will get it." Caroline nodded and picked up her phone ready to call the local pizza place but hesitated once she saw her lock screen wallpaper.

She and Matt had been going through a rough patch and I had an inkling feeling that they weren't going to make it through together.

"I'll do it." Bonnie spoke up after seeing her sadden and gently took the phone from her hands.

"Do you believe that Jonas is being sincere?" Elena asked as she popped a strawberry into her mouth.

"I don't know what to believe. I think he's at a loss. He's not sure who to trust."

"Join the club." I muttered, not knowing if anyone heard me.

"Well, what are we going to do about this movie situation? What about 'The Notebook'?" Caroline sighed exasperatedly.

"The notebook's a load of rubbish."
