"No friend discounts. No freebies. No pay ya laters. We are not running a charity here." Caroline ordered to Elena and I as we sat at the pay station.
"No we are not." Elena confirmed.
Due to me being on the football team, I was made to help out with the 'Sexy Suds Car Wash'. It was just an excuse for the cheerleaders to put on a bikini and let the boys drool over them.
"Hi." Stefan greeted as he walked over to us.
"Hey!" Elena said excitedly.
"Hey Stef." I waved to him.
"How's the head?" Stefan smirked in reply.
"Don't even go there." I warned jokingly. "I do not want to be reminded of that terrible experience." After I finished off that bottle of bourbon at the Founder's Party my body did not agree with me.
"You know guys, the event is called sexy suds." Caroline judged, looking at what the three of us were wearing.
"Did we just get scolded?" Stefan joked in astonishment.
"And judged, yeah." Elena answered.
"Wow." Stefan gasped.
"I'm sorry, but I guess you're going to have to take that off." Elena said flirtatiously.
"Eww, gross guys." I said in disgust, covering my eyes with my hands. I quickly left to get out of that gross situation.
Caroline and I spent most of the time at the pay station, counting the money and judging people's outfit choices.
"Hey, we're out of towels and those shimmy things." Elena interrupted our little slagging off session.
"I'll go get some more." Caroline said. "Watch the money!"
"Yeah Elena watch the money." I mocked. I got up and walked with Caroline into the school and towards the janitors cupboard. I went to open the door but it was locked. Great.
Suddenly Caroline started running down the hallways like she was on a mission.
"Caroline where are you going?!" I yelled. I was not in the mood to run around half naked through the school. By half naked I meant sports bra and tight black Nike shorts.
"Caroline!!" I shouted aggressively. Despite my unwillingness to run I did it anyway and followed Caroline.
She found a navy blue sweater and put that on as she kept on running. It was as if she was in a trance.
We continued to run and run and run through the woods. She finally stopped when we were outside the Boarding House.
"What the hell are we doing here?!" I shouted at Caroline, but she was still in her own little world.
She kept on walking but we didn't go to the front door, instead she walked over to some glass doors and tried to open them but they were locked. She moved to the next set of glass doors and opened them.
"You know this is trespassing." I hissed, but she didn't seem to hear me. What on earth was going on with this girl?
I followed her inside as she walked down the hallways like she'd been here a million times. She suddenly stopped and turned; to our left were steps leading down to a basement.
I stupidly kept on following her down the steps to make sure she wasn't possessed or something.
The first thing I saw when I entered the cold and dark basement was a wooden door with metal bars as windows.
As if it were an instinct, Caroline made her way over to the door and peered through the metal bars.
"Oh, my god! What is this?" Caroline gasped, making me curious. I stood next to her and looked through the metal bars. My body froze when it saw a ghostly pale Damon on the floor. I guessed this room was a dungeon of some sort, because that's a normal thing to have underneath your house.
"How did I know that you were here?" Caroline asked, she seemed to have left her 'trance' now.
"Because I wanted you to. Very, very badly. Let me out of here. Please." Damon said slowly, as if he was dying. He forced himself up which looked like it took a lot of effort.
"You bit me." Caroline said like she'd just remembered that weird fact about her abusive ex boyfriend.
"You liked it. Remember?" Damon replied persuasively.
"What kind of kinky shit are you into." I commented disgustedly.
"Why do I keep remembering the same things, but in different ways?" Caroline went on, still confused about her selective memory.
"You remember what I want you to remember." Damon said creepily. "And now that the vervain has passed out of your system, you won't remember what you're about to do."
What was he going on about?
"What am I about to do?" Caroline asked innocently.
"You're gonna open the door. You're gonna open the door." Damon commanded.
"Umm, Caroline I think we should go find someone. I don't think we should be down here." I said nervously. This wasn't the sarcastic, smirky Damon that I knew.
Caroline ignored me and went to unlock the door, but before she could I grabbed her arm.
"Lily!" Damon yelled at me aggressively. I jumped with fright and stepped back into the stone wall so I wasn't so close to the weird guy behind the door.
Caroline tried once again to open the door but was stopped. "No! No!" A man in his late 40s shouted, moving Caroline out of the way so he could lock the door.
"Get out of here. Run! Run!" He yelled at us, trying really hard to keep the door shut.
"C'mon Caroline." I shouted as I pushed her in front of me towards the steps. I heard Damon get out of his cell, as well as a loud snap. I gulped, hoping the other man was alright.
Caroline sprinted up the stairs with me not far behind. As I was nearly at the top, Damon grabbed my leg and tried to pull me down like an animal. I managed to kick him in the face and quickly scrambled up the rest of the stairs.
We ran like our lives depended on it, which at the moment, they kind of did. We ran through the house towards the front door. Damon was trailing behind us but fortunately he slipped over a rug.
We made it outside and heard a pained scream from inside the house, but we didn't stop. We kept on running until we got back to town.
