I definitely needed more sleep but I was far too excited for the Christmas Eve traditions to start today as I was out of bed by 7:30am and in the shower five minutes later.
I had a quick shower to wake myself up and got dressed into a pair of black skinny jeans, a red jumper and put on my grey Hollister coat that was very well insulated. Perfect for the snowy weather we were blessed with today. Too make sure I didn't get too cold I also put on my grey cotton bobble hat and grabbed my gloves from inside my closet
As I got downstairs Elena was grabbing her car keys. She was wearing a red stylish coat, black jeans, a white bobble hat with matching white gloves and scarf.
"Today is a stress free day. No vampires. No drama. No nothing; except for fun." I negotiated and Elena nodded keenly with a smile.

We spent most of the day like always - making the popcorn garments, drinking hot chocolate and having snow ball fights.
Once it got dark and the lights were all turned on, the sheriff got onto the temporary stage and gave the traditional speech.
"Now that's what I call a Christmas tree. Isn't that gorgeous? The holidays are all about being with loved ones, and I think that's what makes this tradition so special in our town. It's a reminder that no matter where you turn you have a friend."
Bonnie, Elena and I 'awwed' at Liz's speech and we put our heads together.
The crowd started clapping and whistling as Liz walked off the stage.
"Biggest mistake of junior year, including the boys in Secret Santa." Caroline groaned, her head appearing between Bonnie and Elena.
"The boys weren't that bad. Tyler got me some decent gifts." I shrugged and took a small sip of my hot chocolate.
"Stefan is officially the worst gift giver." She lifted her arm and held out Stefan's gift in her hand.
"He got you a snow globe?" Elena snorted and looked at the gift as if it was a joke.
"Yeah, of Mystic Falls, as if I don't see enough of this town every day as it is." Caroline rolled her eyes, making Elena and I laugh.
"Well, I love my bracelet." Bonnie looked at her bracelet adoringly.
"Of course you do because I am good at Secret Santa, and I didn't purchase it from a quick stop."
"Looks like someone is missing the true meaning of Christmas. Come on. We're happy and healthy, and we're together." Elena smiled and brought us all together using her free arm - her other holding her drink.
I pulled Bonnie and Caroline closer as they were on either side of me and we all looked at the Christmas tree, admiring its beauty and simply enjoying the moment.

Once we got home I waited until Elena was drifting off to sleep before I snuck out of my bedroom. In one hand I held a bag full of gifts and in the other I held my brown timberland boots with my car keys hidden inside one.
Sneaking out since Jenna had become our guardian was as easy as breathing.
I knew all the places where the floorboards were creaky and with all the practice I've had in the last year, getting downstairs and into the kitchen took me only a few moments.
